I love my SNES, and think the only problem with the controller is the size and shape of it, which in turn makes it hard to hold and consequently to hit the buttons.
I still think they made a wrong turn with the controller on the N64 {the next generation Nintendo console after SNES} which seems to have been made for aliens with 3 hands.
{Duke Nukem 64: Zero Hour - know what I mean?}
Somewhere near the start of this thread someone was talking about the PS3 and Blu Ray movies:
These are only worth it if you have an HDMI cable.
If you're using RCA, stick with the standard DVDs'.
Although I don't personally own any HD anything, I have heard 'people' say this among videophile discussion groups.
I come across this stuff while looking for audiophile discussion groups.
{The crossover between these two groups is home theater, so there you have it}

Re: Buying PS3.
I only use controller for playing long games like RPGs and when I need an analog stick. My fingers are faster and more accurate on a keyboard for most games.

Re: Buying PS3.
Ps3, HAs the ps2 backwards compatability upgrade? available in its shop channel, I havnet gotten it yet but I found it a few days ago^^. Ps3 also has an internal memory card for ps2 and ps1 games..
Games I recommend, If you can get periphreals, A version of Rock band, I am really loving my Beatles rock band game^^. Im also addicted to Cross edge and MVC2.
Cross edge is a cross over RPG game with a ton of characters, I wanted it for the Darkstalekrs and Ar tonelico one characters^^.
LYNAR AND FELICIA FOR THE WIN!
My team at the moment is
Lynar, Felicia, Raze (From a game I have to go and try now cause hes awesome^^) and either Miko ( an orignal character, shes a spear user) or Aurica (The awesome healer. Parties almost dead? she signs a song and BOOM all full health again! as long as the characters are all in the range of the spells..)
Unlike most Rpg, Cross edge, when on the over world, heals and restores your characters after each fight. the only bad part is having to COMB the areas Looking for items and Events.. other than that? Game rocks^^.

Re: Buying PS3.
Wat, you can buy it in the shop?!
I think of those games, I'd get MVC2.
Cross edge looks interesting, but it seems too hand held if that makes sense.

Only in the beginning.. once you have more characters join in, the game gets much harder fairly quickly. the boss fights are also incredibly difficult.. but if you have alot of trouble you can go to the shop and get a free pack of items. Oh and the addon dungeons are Amazing! they don't just appear when you download them though, you unlock an event later, and when you get far enough along you get the Extra event that makes the Extra dungeon visible. Im fairly far in the game and still get my arse pounded in the second extra dungeon... The only thing that makes this game easier than alot of boss fight rpg games, is that alot of the character boss fights, end after so many turns.. but you dont find out how many.. I know becasue one of them ended while I spent an entire turn healing my party members..

Tekkaman was the second greatest mod RU/onVGP/EVG had ever seen. The perfect protagonist to my antagonistic streak.

Karas is better on Tatsunoko's side.
No one touches Frank's awesomeness in TvC.
Alex does come close now that I think of it.

Not true. Oblivion takes a lot to run well on a PC, Fallout should be the same. I guess Tails could drop tons of money on a high end PC for those two games but I think he's better off buying them for like 40$ on the PS3 he's already getting. Nice try though.

Lies.
Reccomended (not minimum) system requirements to run Elder Scrolls: Oblivion:
Quote:
3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
1 GB System RAM
ATI X800 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card
|
Ooohh... How very high end!
What a joke. Anyone who can't handle 8 year old specs is a bit pathetic.
Source:
The Elder Scrolls
Here's the minimum reqs, just for grins and giggles:
Quote:
Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows XP 64-bit
512MB System RAM
2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
128MB Direct3D compatible video card
and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver;
8x DVD-ROM drive
4.6 GB free hard disk space
DirectX 9.0c (included)
DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
Keyboard, Mouse

Re: Buying PS3.
The point is you said he'd save 300-700. How is he gonna do that when he'd have to buy a brand new PC with good specs(graphics card too probably) and then the game? I know you have this irrational hatred for any console not made by Nintendo but give it a rest once in a while ok?
