Re: Buying a Sega Saturn
Wow! How long has it been that I've been trying to buy this?? Last december to my recolection... Jeez, tails is right. I'm the Daffy Duck of RU, always screwed So finally, I had bought my saturn, but then the store was closed for games... This had happened a while ago, but now. I finally have my first game... Finally! I've waited so long, I almost feel like laughing at all my failed attempts to buy a Saturn
So here it is, first game... Other than the one I already had:

Re: Buying a Sega Saturn
The framerate isn't bad... Only choppy thing I noticed is sometimes when you open doors... There is only 1 button to toggle weapons which isn't a huge issue. But, there is un-used buttons that could've easily been used for that. It beats most console ports that I've playedl...

Cam... check it out... you do a monster review of the entire series of doom, and you got a piece of literature, but do your homework.

Re: Buying a Sega Saturn
Yeah, lol. I've tried lots of versions of it to see what's best. Same story with the game theme park, it was released on like 20 different consoles, and I've tried a lot of them just for comparison. For some reason, the saturn version has way more to do and allows for way more guests to come to your park. There is 2 versions here if you'd like to try them, but they aren't at their best: Retro Uprising - Arcade - Theme Park
Retro Uprising - Arcade - Theme Park
Anyways, yeah. Doom is cool, but the versions all seem to differ quite a bit. The music on the 3DO version is great.

Re: Buying a Sega Saturn
Yeah, there are plenty of good games on the Saturn, well only a few, but you get the point.
There is an enhanced port of Symphony of the Night.

Re: Buying a Sega Saturn
So, you can get around that by downloading an illegal copy of the game, I personally don't do that kind of stuff (I wouldn't be searching high and low for MGS if I did), but it is always an alternative.

It could... there are ways around that kind of stuff, all PS2 games are copy protected, yet if I had a blank DVD, I could download any PS2 game and burn it onto the DVD and it would play just like new in a completely un-modded PS2.

Re: Buying a Sega Saturn
I know all about that thanks to two specific people on this site that taught me how to burn DC games. But, I really doubt that a NTSC-J game works on a NTSC-U Saturn.

Ah, but you could:
A: Mod the system
B: Download a copy with the region lock removed.

Re: Buying a Sega Saturn
you mean a mod chip? I can't do that. I modded it so it will run with the cover open.

Re: Buying a Sega Saturn
Then download one with a modified region lock.
What good does having it run with the cover open do anyway?

Re: Buying a Sega Saturn
Basically remove the game of an american disk and put in another region, thus bypassing the lock.
