Uh, huh. I agree. They should have left that alone. No wonder Brandon Routh hasn't found a new job. The Superman curse strikes again. Let's hope the Spider-Man series doesn't develop one.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

I think the superman thing is different. Superman is just boring compared to most other super heros. With all the recent exposure to Marvel it's hard to make a movie about a generic indestructable good guy who's only weakness seems to be so easy to find. Even a bad guy with no super powers is able to pwn superman regularly. That would never happen to Wolverine.

The hulk without question. It's funny you brought him up, I think he's the best superhero of them all. As long as he's pointed at the bad guys he's an unstoppable force for good.
Hulk would rip superman to shreds.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

Nightcrawler is the bomb! Great mutant power with sword skills is a good combination. But yeah, Superman is a bit overrated. Batman on the other hand is one of the best super heroes out there because he needs no fancy super powers. Batman could even bang Wonder Woman in he wanted to.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

Don't get me going. The problem is most people think that way. First off, just because Batman has 127 different martial arts styles does not mean he can beat Wonder Woman. Secondly, besides the fact said bad guy happens to be Lex Luthor don't mean anything. I'm a big fan of Superman and have read plenty of his comics. Powers or no, he always finds a way to beat his enemies.

hahaha! I never said Batman could beat Wonder Woman in a fight. I meant bang Wonder Woman as in sexxy time bang.

Well that's nothing special considering almost all super heros do the same. My point is Superman is supposed to be this all powerful, invincible hero but he's thwarted regularly by a guy with no super powers. Batman is the better DC character because he's overcoming his weakness(lack of powers) to defeat super powered enemies. He's more relatable, superman is just too perfect so it's hard to care about him.
My opinion is bias, Batman is the only DC character I like(that I can think of). Marvel ftw.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

Nobody said that. Superman's flaws are what make him a better hero than most think. Also, if you're referring to Luthor, the problem is that's not true either. Read Superman/Batman Public Enemies. Thanks to Batman, Superman thwarted Luthor's attempts to discredit him. Secondly, another case where Superman stood tall compared to Luthor was the Final Crisis.
He ended it and Batman supposedly lost his life, though the epilogue ended in a cliffhanger.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

I'm not saying that superman loses to lex all the time. All superheros have to fall before they can rise up dramatically. That's the most basic comic storyline and it happens to him all the time, another reason he's so boring btw.
I'm just saying that superman isn't that interesting because he has these over the top super powers but his primary enemy is some guy with a rock. Batman is just more interesting.

Obviously that's my opinion but I think it's somewhat true for most people. Btw I'm not a comic person really. I've never bought comics, I've only read them second hand and even then I'm not a die hard fan.

I'm with DB on this one. Batman is more complex of a character. He also has the best secret identity of them all. He's frickin Billionare Bruce Wayne.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

The only thing I like about superman is how he has to wear a costume to blend in with normal people. I can't think of any other super heros who can claim that level of public exposure.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

DB, I hate to disagree. First off, the only reason I believe Superman is far better than that is because unlike Batman, he does not have a vendetta against crime. Secondly, Superman's worst failing is believing he can save everyone at any time. JLA: Pain of the Gods established that. Batman's own worst failings include not always trusting his allies in the Bat-Family as the group is usually called. Secondly, Luthor is not as over the top as you might believe. Mxyzptlk is far more over the top. Plus, if Luthor didn't have his rock, he's as completely helpless as any other human being.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

I'll tell you right now there's no way anyone can convince me that Superman is cool. I just don't like him and I think he's a terrible superhero. I get that you like him a lot and I'm not trying to bash you for it. There's no point in going back and forth on this since it's all opinion.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

Nah he's not as bad as the majority of DC characters. I think the appeal of Spiderman is how he was a normal nerdy kid and his powers were thrust upon him. Also he does add some humor to his fights so he's got that too. This video shows a good example I think.

I agree, it has always been interesting to me how Peter Parker has to manage his everyday life as a growing teenager. Struggling with girls, villians, and super powers is quite the work load. I also love the humor he adds to the fights with his wisecrack antics. I hope we get to see more of that in the reboot film series.

Re: Spider-Man Reboot!

DB, the DC characters have their own appeal. I'm sorry, but I have been primarily a DC fan since I started reading comic books. The way Spider-Man is going now, the only Marvel products I will read these days are the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

Btw how about the rumors of Robert Pattinson taking over the role of Spiderman? Sure it's being denied by everyone but Hollywood is known for casting retardedly to capitalize on fame. Coming off the Twilight movies this might just be true in the end. If he plays spiderman there's an automatic fanbase from day 1. If this happens I doubt I'll watch anymore Spiderman moves.
There's even been rumors of Pattinson starring in the new Dune remake.

I'm really not trying to insult people for liking DC, I just think it's a dinosaur that's struggling to keep up with Marvel. I agree about Spiderman though. I like him when he's in other stuff but on his own I don't much like him.

Btw does DC have characters like this?

Now that might cause a nerd riot. Dune isn't as popular as LOTR but many people hold it in very high regard. IF he gets Dune I'd hope it's not as the star but that doesn't seem likely.
