Cell phone rant:
1. Bad reception, quality, cutouts, static.
2. I don't like the idea of everyone being instantly reachable at all times. I think being a little hard to reach is a good thing. I'm an introvert though.
3. They are rude. You can be in a conversation with someone face to face and the phone rings and your face to face conversation stops while the other person starts a new conversation with someone that is not even there. And even if they do not stop your conversation to answer the phone there is still the distraction.
4. Ring tones. If you want to listen to a song get an MP3 player with headphones. I don't want to listen to your beep beep rendition of Opps I Did It Again.
5. Crappy photo quality. Get a camera. Or if you want to be really cool get a Go Go Gadget Calculator Watch that can take photos and has a walkie talkie and water gun built in.
6. They cause car wrecks. Do not use your cell phone while driving.
7. I do not want to listen to you talk on the phone. Everywhere I go people are talking. Take a break. It is ok to be quite by yourself for a few minutes each day.
8. Cell phones at movies, restaurants, parks and anywhere else are a big distraction both for the person on the phone and the people that have to listen to the person on the phone.
9. Cell phone companies are evil to their customers plus they are spammy and I have to see their advertisements. I hate advertisements. Except the ones on this site
Though I have a plan to remove them.
10. Unless your child is a drug dealer they do not need a cell phone that can call anyone besides their parents and 911.
11. I much prefer talking in person. I think is good for everyone to try to interact face to face more often.
12. I find phones distracting. They often ring when I am concentrating on something.
13. Their is the possibility that they are bad for your brain.
14. They are not private. Easily taped and can be used to track you by GPS. This doesn't bother me. Seems like it would only affect criminals.
I had a pager for 3 months for a job 10 years ago. I had a cell phone for 3 months 5 years ago also for a job. That is the only time I have ever had either. Right now I only have an Internet VOIP phone that goes straight to voice mail - the voice mail is sent to my email.
There have been times when I wish I had a cell phone - lost in the middle of nowhere for example.

Myspace rant:
1. Ugly
2. Do not autoplay music. If I want to listen to it I will press play.
3. Crashes my browser often.
4. Spammy.
5. Has spread viruses.
6. Search is not good.
7. Chain letters.
8. Owned by Rupert Murdoch (Fox News, Media Conglomerate) - separate rant for another time. I think he is evil.
9. Censors - Example censored Ron Paul supporters. See #8.
10. And just like cell phones I don't think you need to be that instantly in touch with everyone. I know there are obvious benefits to myspace and cell phones keeping everyone in touch but I also believe that this has a price to pay for it.
11. People obsess about myspace and I don't think it deserves that much of your attention.
I think social sites like myspace and facebook can be done in a very positive way. I just don't think they have yet.
