The point of this thread was to give Cat a chance to prove her case, which because I knew she was wrong, would hopefully end in her realizing and accepting her mistake.

She was excited for the chance at first and agreed, but something happened and she chickened out.

Since the original point of the topic failed, I guess the only thing left to do is discuss how much of a hypocrite she is. Which we have probably done enough by now.

Before this happened I was interested in reading a copy of her mag. I was even going to offer a subscription as a prize next month but that is definitely not going to happen now.

Adults should have calm and rational conversations. Not name calling and rage. From reading the few posts and emails I have seen from you I think calling you would just serve your urge to rage at a stranger. If I am lying then just show us ANY evidence that led you to your conclusions and accusations and prove me wrong. Simple.

I can then take that evidence and show how it was just an innocent mistake and you think I am someone else or something and we can all be one happy retro video game family again.

If you have no evidence and you just made this all up then you need to apologize. You can't slander people and expect them to not ask you to explain your claims. When you can't defend your claims or you realize your claims were false or mistaken, then you are supposed to apologize.

Dear Cat DeSpira,

I would like to stand as a personal reference to "Kong". I worked along side this fine man for six years behind the scenes here at RetroUprising.com (formerly onVGP.com). He has shown utmost respect and character to all people he has associated with, especially those who have reciprocated the sentiment back to him.

I have been able to witness his love for a "hobby" and make it a life ambition. He is attempting to grow this hobby to something even larger than it already is. He has created a place for retro gamers of all ages to congregate and discuss, play and reminisce about games long lived. He does all of this without monetary consideration of any kind with the exception of donations supplied by the users of his site.

I am a little concerned where your hostility stems from about "Kong" and his creation of the ChamPow website. He is attempting to assist the community of gamers to have a sole place to find world record high scores. When there are many groups claiming to have the "best" of one thing, should there not be a place to compare all the bests to see who truly is. These records are placed in public view, so what is to say any one of us create a website that shows all the scores. Even better yet, there are so many world records out there for different variations, a current list of those records in an area would be ideal. "Kong" is trying to create this.

I am also concerned with your accusations claiming that "Kong" was employed in some manner with the TwinGalaxies group. If this were a United States court of law, the burden of proof is in your hands. If you do not have or release the proof, your allegations are deemed false, until proven otherwise.

In closing, I would like to extend an invitation to you to express your fact finding. If not here at RetroUprising.com, on a more neutral site (where ever that may be located). I, for one, am curious what information you have found and will be the first to retract any statement I have said to the contrary toward you or your representatives.

She's getting special acknowledgment because she is a grrrrl gamer, there are tons of people who have bigger personal arcades, have contributed way more to retro gaming, and gaming in general, but they are not special because they are males.

You know the more I learn about TG, and the whole WR scene, the more I realize is what a clique it is. It's just one big circlejerk, with the same handful of names that keep coming up. The people who are well known in the community, are the same people that control who gets well known, and who doesn't. They seem to have these arbitrary rules that keep the group entirely in there control, and they all just sit around patting each other on the back.

Maybe I'm delusional, but it seems that way to me.
