That's a very mean beat down. You'd think he did more than identity theft and resisting arrest. The victim was known to them as an aggressive criminal, resisting arrests/shooting a puppy in front of the family, but that doesn't justify beating him until you are exhausted and need to take a knee. I don't see how anyone can defend that behavior. The guy was prone with his hands behind his back when they approached, it doesn't get more compliant than that. I'm amazed that some cops are still so brazen about this kind of thing.

I don't know why I'm thinking this, and I've never thought this way before, but I don't think I mind a little beating on a criminal caught in the act. This was excessive for sure, but a few little shots upon arrest I don't see a problem with. A punch or 2 in the face is not a big deal, just kinda like an adult spanking.
The problem with that is the police are not supposed to be judge, jury or executioner. If you allow it to happen then you're on a slippery slope, how much is too much?
All my life I've known that the cops might rough you up a little if you give them a hard time or if your crime is very offense to their morals. What we're seeing in that video is the evolution of that. They look like a group of thugs who know that no one is gonna say shit. You can see it in their body language. I think it's the scariest part of the video.

I know this is a bit late but I don't understand how that mirror could be ok unless it was stated somewhere in the establishment that "bathroom patrons will be peeped on". Even then I'm not sure it's legal unless you make it completely visible but then it would be considered a porn thing and might become illegal for different reasons. Weird.

Yup they blasted commuters with Goatse(don't image search if you don't know what it is, really). The benefit in all this for women lies in the fact that their taking up arms has also brought about great changes in how women are treated in their community, and respect for them is finally in sight; beforethis, they would have been married off at an early age to an old man then sent into the kitchen/ nursery to be seen but not heard, in a state "...like death" - their words. Sadly it took such a terrible thing as war to make their men realize they are in fact equal and should be treated as such.
Sadly it looks like these kind of attacks will only get more frequent. Islamic fanaticism is increasing and the US is the holy grail of targets.

I guess it all depends on how much a person believes Japan should stay true to its 1947 constitutional amendments. I'm not saying I support the actions of pre 1947 Japan but that amendment wasn't exactly signed willingly. Adding language like " forever renounce" is just asking for it to be overturned. What if China decides to start claiming land all around them and the US goes to war, is Japan just gonna sit on the shore and cheer us on? Eventually Japan may need to get more involved. Mech jokes aside we could really use a country like Japan on our side of major conflicts. Maybe we need a little WW2 style Japanese intervention in the middle east. Fight fire with fire. Just saying.

It's not that simple. Either way Japan is a major US ally and this fight will come to them eventually. If Isis is allowed to establish their caliphate they will not spare Japan because they're peaceful. They'll see it as weakness and an opportunity.

Maybe you should consider their actual capabilities to fight ISIS in conjunction with all of their other issues going on (poverty, international economic and military sanctions spearheaded by the United States, etc) before blaming them for not dealing with a problem that the United States created in the grand name of peace, democracy, and 'regional stabilization'.

Oh sure poor Saudi Arabia. The royal family only has over 100 billion or more between them and they're in the top five for military spending in the world. They're one of the biggest military importers and that stuff is top of the line. But yeah Isis is too much for them to handle.
