Re: The Game Masters Submissions
It appears that I took the path of evil , but not sure if taking a more righteous path gives you a better ending or simply tells you that you took the most righteous path...

Re: The Game Masters Submissions
Approved and verified Joz, good job.
This came up before about the different endings and we agreed that good or evil is ok for mastery. Some games have easier endings but not Ogre Battle. The good ending might be seen as easier but it requires that you play like 4-5 more levels. The evil ending is much harder because of all the stuff you miss out on by being so evil. I think it's an equal trade off.

Re: The Game Masters Submissions
Yeah no kidding. The Head Angel and some powerful looking dudes didn't want to join my forces because I made some rotten decisions on some stages. Pffft! Who needed their help anyways. My pet dragons and powerful wizards were all I needed.

Re: The Game Masters Submissions
Yeah to hell with those angels The unique one is good, like all hero characters, but the angel unit itself is pretty unimpressive compared to other stuff. I usually just get one to toss in a mixed group or so he's leveled when I fight a lot of evil characters.
Dragons are awesome once you get past the early stages and that damn mountain movement type. Did you end up getting any of the high level dragons?

No kidding. Those angel units sucked big time. No, I didn't get any high level dragons. I got some early on and leveled them up as I went on, so when some really powerful ones started to show up, they were not that impressive and I didn't bother capturing them. Besides, my wizards were uber strong and most of them had attack all magic.

Re: The Game Masters Submissions
Please tell me you don't mean the actual Wizard unit. Beating the game without upgrading them to at least a Mage would be ridiculous to say the least. I know you said some have AOE(meaning they upgraded) but that also means not all did. Must've been brutal.

I had 1 sorcerer, 1 mage, 9 wizards, 7 monks, 1 shaman, 4 valkaries, 8 paladins, 2 samurais, 3 muses, 1 witch, 2 ninjas, 2 beastmen, some werewolves I never used, 1 rock golem I never used either, 1 silver dragon, 1 gold dragon, 1 cockatris, 1 gryphon, 1 master, 2 ice giants, 1 fire giant, 3 hell hounds for mountain movements, 6 ghosts, 3 skeleton warriors, 1 devil, 1 tiamat (very powerful) and some pixies and cherubs I had for no good reason.
I really didn't have any problems with the enemies. I balanced them pretty well I must say. Depending on the enemy unit, I usually always had a unit or two that would take minimal damage and constantly win their battles. Having a solid plan of attack is key.
The monks really helped me out. Only one unit didn't have a healer. That was my UNIT OF DEATH! It was 2 skeletons in the front and 2 ghosts and a devil leading from the back row. Only weakness were angels and any healing type enemy.

GOOD JOB! Beating any game on the SNES with the keyboard is worthy of my praise. If it's still there in the morning, I'll check it out to verify.

Re: The Game Masters Submissions
I second that. +1 TNT. SMB has a bunch of tough jumps that had to be very hard on the keyboard. Well done!

Re: The Game Masters Submissions
OH wait. I made a mistake. It wasn't for SNES...just NES. Still, props for finishing a game with the keyboard. Checked and verified! TNT even finished it twice!

Re: The Game Masters Submissions
Yeah... I came really really close to breaking my keyboard out of frustration on level 8-1 there, it's a good thing I had about 25 lives at that point

King of the Monsters (coin-op) monsterized.
Roarrrr! Enemyzilla destroys!
I don't believe I finally won this game, this machine is a shameless thief.

Black Belt (Sega Master System) done.

NES' Kung Fu players would like this game.
Better yet, Hokuto no Ken, which is the original, harder and cooler.

Thanks, amigo! I spent a week being embarrassingly beaten to accomplish this.
