You could also try places like a VFW or other halls that rent out space. Sure it's not hardcore at all but it's bound to be affordable and it's indoor so you can make sure the gate crashers pay their dues.

It means Veteran of Foreign Wars(it's actually called a V.F.W. hall). Most towns/cities have something like it. It's like a lodge or meeting house for army dudes. I know some rent out their halls for pretty much anything as long as it's not going to damage the building or break any laws. Like I said it's not hardcore or anything but they usually have a lot of room and a stage for performances. Also they can serve alcohol on premises, but they'll charge extra obviously.

I'm a member of my local VFW. While I'm not sure if this is true at all posts, I know that ours works differently than from what DB said. At our post you need to be a member or have your event sponsored by a member to rent the hall. They'll bartend a bar in the hall if you want for free, but unless you pay for it, it wont be an open bar.

I don't know all the details Tenser but around here it's not unusual for events to be held at the VFW. I don't know where they draw the line but the events I heard about were pretty diverse. Maybe the MA chapters are hurting for money or something.

No, I didn't. My father did. My local post has three chapters, veterans, wives of veterans, and sons of veterans. I'm a member of the latter.

I don't think my town has one of those.

We have a handful of small venues downtown, and 1 big venue where the few famous bands that come through here play. I'm waiting to hear back from one of the smaller ones and it's pretty much my last hope before I have to do something drastic.

@tmt, i take it that you found a location for your show. thats good, i also take it that people found a way to ruin the fun for everyone. that sucks.

while we are on the topic of venting, concerned cod, i don't mind camping (if done in moderation), but i hate nuke boosters.

Actually I never did find a venue and had to cancel. Booking people in my town told me they didn't want to deal with the rap crowd because they get in fights and don't spend any money at the bar.

The Twin Cities Hip Hop Awards were a few days ago, and a fight broke out. Which is what brought it up.

I have no idea what a nuke booster is, but I understand that in COD if you get the nuke perk it ends the game. That sounds awesome/dumb at the same time.

Killstreak, and people boost it to get titles and points, and it is really annoying. I have never gotten one before, but I have gotten two EMP's in one game, and thats good enough for me.

You can get a nuke if you get 25 kills in a row. This isn't impossible but most times people boost to get it. They boost by using tactical insertion(let's you choose your spawn point) and having their buddy on the other team stand there and die over and over in some remote corner of the map. It's retarded and the company should patch it. Regardless of the scores it ends the match. This is very annoying in objective type game modes.

the only time that i appriciate a nuke is when a team is losing and they use it. it is annoying when someone gets it 3 or 4 minutes into a game and they burn it right away. it is especially annoying when you are winning a free-for-all, and you get beat by a booster.

Another thing that irritates me, is when African-American people think they deserve social and legal preference, instead of the equality. I see this mostly in younger people (14-18 years old).

It irks me too. When my brother tried to get a job at a grocery store, they told him they had no open positions but when someone else asked for one they gave them one and then hired the guy. (he was hispanic)
