Re: World's Worst Film Maker?
Ya! 2001 was a stupid movie, it was slow and boring. I'd rather watch a Star Trek movie!

It means that Star Trek movies are boring.
To be more specific TNG ones.

Worst film-maker:
Uwe Bowl
At least Ed Wood didn't take himself as seriously.

So wait a sec, you think 2001 is boring but Star Trek is slightly less boring? Oh and btw we can't be friends if you continue to hate on TNG, sorry it's just how I roll.

What's so great about TNG? It was the most boring star trek series.

Re: World's Worst Film Maker?
TNG was boring most of the time. The characters talked so much and took so long to ever do anything. The only time it was fun was when it had Q or the Borg. By the way the people who make sequals to bad slasher films just do not know when to quit.

Re: World's Worst Film Maker?
Everyone says TNG was intellectual. However, it seems to me that the viewers equate long talkative segments with intellectual discussions. Voyager was more explorative. Deep Space 9 was more actionate. Even Enterprise was better.

Amen, I would say more on this but I fear it will become a Star Trek topic.

Re: World's Worst Film Maker?
Sorry Kong, but Dr. Strangelove was hillarious. And TNG was the best Star Trek series.
The worst director has to be Uwe Boll, he uses German tax loopholes as part of his budget.

Re: World's Worst Film Maker?
I guess I agree with the whole Uwe Boll crowd. I wish he would quit ruining decent games by turning them into movies. Far Cry, Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead were all terrible movies. Only movie he made that I enjoyed somewhat was Seed.

Boring to you. I think it was the best one because it was the most realistic. I also liked DS9 a lot because of that but it had some boring episodes where almost nothing happened.
I really wanted to like Voyager and Enterprise but the cast ruined both shows for me(besides scott bakula, he's pretty cool).

Don't forget all those shows had the benefit of being made after TNG, they were able take the best parts and leave out the parts that didn't do so well. Imagine if TNG was never made? We'd have several lame, campy star trek shows that bombed instead.

Re: World's Worst Film Maker?
Besides Michael Bay (horribly overrated), I would say Lloyd Kaufman of Troma infamy ha, even though I think he seems to make bad films on purpose as a schtick. I get how Toxic Avenger would be one of those cult classics. But seeing parts of some of his other movies, it's just not watchable to me.

Lloyd Kaufman is a schlockmeister, pure and simple; he knows it, and goes to great lengths to add extra cheese, extra offensive scenes, extra gore - you get the idea - and that's him in a nutshell, really.
His films vary in quality and content, but I agree that some are downright painful to watch {as they were intended to be}.
I like to watch movies like he makes {and others like Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson used to} with over - the - top situations rarely seen in most 'Hollywood' productions {back then}.
Where horror meets comedy, offense and shock become the theme, the mood of the movie can change at a moment's notice, and the object of the movie at times is to leave you staring in disbelief with your jaw on the floor.
Sometimes snickering , other times barely enduring the on - screen spectacle but I wouldn't have it either way because I love B - movies!!
WHEN it comes to bad Directors, I've recently become aware of the talents of Tommy Wiseau, the Writer/ Director/ Producer/ Actor of 'The Room'- not to be confused with the other movies by the same title, which may actually be good, this is said to be one of the worst movies of all time.
I think it was SC13 who said he thinks it was intentionally bad, and I agree.
They knew what they were doing, they must have.
Then there's Uwe Boll, oh Uwe Boll ..
Uwe Boll and terrible video game movies.

Re: World's Worst Film Maker?
Go read up on Tommy Wiseau. He's not just some director that got lucky on a movie. His life before The Room is a mystery and most of what he says is suspected to be lies. For example he claims to be born in 1968 but people who've worked with him and looked into his past have reason to believe he's much older, possibly being born in the 50s. They also claim that the movie was a money laundering scheme for some crime syndicate. No one knows how he financed the movie(his claims about this also very suspect) and the casting choices/production values show that he didn't care that much. On top of that I met him at one of the screenings and he's not putting on an act, he's very weird. He's actually fascinating but I'm also afraid of him. He gives off a feeling of uneasiness and mental instability. He's the real deal.
I just read that Seth Rogan is producing a movie based on Greg Sesteros book about his time with Tommy, starring James Franco as Tommy. I have to see it.

Uh, your apostrophes fell.
Also, Uwe Boll didn't direct The Toxic Avenger.

It's kinda hard to miss the entrance like Wiseau did.
You'll have to post them and we'll gladly form opinions as to who's worse.
