I think 32X is probably the least cool on the list but it is also probably the easiest to add so quick turn around time before moving on to second place if it wins.

I hear you. That was kind of my thought. I still like the system. I especially played Star Wars Arcade, MKII (Gamenguru and I played it for at least 500 hours back in the day), Virtua Fighter II, and Kolibri. It makes sense though that it would be one that could be added quickly and boost the game choices relatively painlessly.

I voted for more atari, Amiga because I have never played it.. and 32X for knuckles chaotix and DOOM!
(hums the e1 m1 theme)
Laser disk is another cool idea, though.. I read alot of choose your own adventure
(survival hint for most of the books if it seems dangerouse or stupid GO FOR IT!)

I had somthing simaler to that when I was little, but it looked like a robot, not like that weird thing.

Even if it is eventually added you don't have to play it. It's not mandatory.

No. 32X did have the power to handle something like Dragon's Lair. 32X was okay, but it was essentially a souped up Genesis. It was a cartridge system, so it basically was Genesis with more colors.

That's right. I forgot about that. They had a 64 color version of Dragon's Lair.

Also, now that I think of it, they did a bunch of LD games didn't they? I remember Road Avenger, Cobra Command, and that Ninja one. I think I have those somewhere.

To me, DL used to be cool but all of the ports and remakes have made it a cliche to me. All I know is, we could use the Sega, Atari, and Amiga CD32.

I liked a lot of the old Laser Disc games, but my favorites were the Don Bluth ones (Dragons Lair series and Space Ace series).

I won't mind seeing Sega 32X and more Atari (at some point). Remember the Amiga CD32 is not the system in the poll. The CD32 was a very short lived system with only a few games. It only lasted about 6 months. The Amiga on the list is the Amiga computer which was out for 9 or so years and produced many of the best games ever made.

I agree, but I think people see Sega and just choose that because they know it. As an Amiga owner (or at least an owner until the thing finally gave up the ghost), I know that it is one of the greatest gaming machines ever created, but what can you do? Kong did have a good point, though: 32X should be very easy to enable, then hopefully the second choice can be worked on. Of course I hope that will be the Amiga, and I hope it will be technically possible to emulate (I know it will be time consuming, but hopefully possible as it is great) but regardless, at least 32X will be enabled and done.

I think we should use this polls results to choose the follow up system. From the wikipedia link 32X only has 32 games anyways. Also it says they only sold 200,000 systems, is that accurate? If so what a fantastic waste of time this will be.
I vote we close this and add the 32X to get it over with. Then move on to the amiga since there's obvious interest in it.

That's probably about right. The 32X was basically a quickie idea Sega came up with to try to prolong the Genesis' life cycle. It was mostly a sales failure. To its credit they did manage to produce a few quality games like Star Wars Arcade, a good version of MKII, and a good shooter called Kolibri (you played as a hummingbird). Other than that, the 32X had very little to offer IMHO. I think it would be a quick way to boost the game/system count on the site, though.

If the Amiga can eventually be added, I think I will be in Nirvana for awhile. It had some really nice stuff. The challenge will be adapting it for R.U. I think. I know there are a few decent emus out for the Amiga, so hopefully that will help. In my mind there isn't a much higher choice for hardcore retro gamers (at least PC anyway) because those that played the Amiga typically turned into little cultish groupies (I count myself as one of these). It was the gaming choice back in the day for people who were looking for quality graphics and hardcore game play.

The idea is more people would be willing to donate to the site to add the 32X. By just tossing it up and saying the hell with it, you're losing out on some possible donation dollars.

Yeah I realize that tenser but it doesn't mean we have to like it. I think the Amiga would attract a different crowd and potentially a better crowd. No offense intended of course. 32X just seems like a weak choice overall.

That makes sense, and I agree that 32X is probably the best next choice to add. However, I bet there are a lot of other Amiga cultists (-aka- soul slaves) lurking out there waiting for someone to feature Amiga games. There are a bunch of sites our there devoted to Amiga already, but most of them are retrospective sites. I have never seen one that offers anything like what R.U. does. I think a lot of people would come out of the woodwork if R.U. managed to get them working.

By the way, Amiga definitely had some nice enhanced C64 games.

Here are a few examples of the difference between C64 and Amiga versions. These are more commonly known arcade games. Of course there were tons of C64/Amiga exclusive games as well.

Only reason I wanted 32x was to finally try Doom and Knuckles.
The Atari stuff I grew up on and love playing again.

Amiga, I had heard so much about this wonderful machine, never got to play it, I remember an olm computer my dad had that had a port for an amiga game I think, just wish I remember more about it...
