We played Oregon Trail in school. We had like 4-5 teams with the goal of getting to the end the fastest. My team didn't check the map and we all died of starvation after a wrong turn. We failed.

in canada we had our own little oregon trail, it was called cross-country canada, and you were a trucker who shipped rescources from province to province. the coolest part of the game was picking up the hitchhiker (if anyone in the class could figure out how to spell it) skip to 2:00 in to see some awsome hitchhiker action [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCVQFzBAu14"]YouTube - Crosscountry Canada[/ame]

The reason I voted for every single game except 2 was because I was bored and that's the creator of the polls fault for making it multiple choice.If I had to choose 1 It would be either Donkey Kong or Pac-Man.And just beacuse I am under the age of 14 I don't really care if you were being tricked into learning about life on the trail while you thought you were just playing a cool agme before I was born, at least I'm not like the other kids who call retro games crap.

Don't take it so personally. It was made multiple choice on purpose therefore you can vote for whatever you want. I think the main concern is that people take the voting seriously so we get an accurate count.

There is a lot of people that log on less than once every 3 days. But this will also take a long time to have all of the polls. Maybe running multiple polls at once would be a good compromise.

Yeah besides being years late to the party you're also missing the fact that this is a retro game site. Newer games are perfectly fine and all but most people here probably never played it and they wouldn't vote for it. Just sayin.

Hey I saw someone representing a totally UNDERRATED game, retro or not......but since this is RU (I heard people talking about MMO's, which DEFINTELY are not retro games.......im just saying

Heres my verdict,

Donkey Kong- Great game but I found it to easy.

Mike Tyson's Punch Out!- Very fun, great game and had a balance of easy and hardness.

Space Invaders- This is a classic but it would probably go at the bottom of my list of these games

Tetris- Yes, I did vote for Tetris because I love puzzle games and you can choose the difficulty so its not to hard and Its not easy, plus the musics great

Mega Man 2- Great fun game my favorite out of the Mega Man games probably my 2nd favorite on the list

Pac Man- Awesome classic game, but the newer pac-man game suck

Pong- good game but too simple

Oregon Trail- I've always loved the game and its funny.

@Parsons: Unreal doesn't really hold up too well now. I certainly don't think it really belongs in "Best Game Ever" lists. It's one of those games that was fun at the time, but is now propped up by nostalgia more than anything else.

@Parsons- Just so you know most of the non retro stuff being discussed around here is because of me. It's like pulling teeth to get these dudes to appreciate anything that isn't 10-15 years old. I try to keep them posted about all the great stuff they're missing out on.
