Re: SNES RPG's
Try 7th saga for sure then. It's a hard and unforgiving game but it's awesome once you learn it.
I really like Might and Magic isles of Terra, it has a lot of story and tons of exploration. You can literally go anywhere on the map. Even into the elemental planes. Awesome.

Re: SNES RPG's
i played breath of fire only once, liked it, but never had a chance to play it again and it was one of those titles that was lost in the shuffle.
illusion of gaia was a decent rpg, albit kind of an action/rpg.

Re: SNES RPG's
I played one Breath of Fire game for countless hours. I think it was part 3. Either way it was a great game all the way through and I'd gladly play it again.

Re: SNES RPG's
rather than list of the good snes games wed probly be better off listing the ones to avoid, since 90 percent of them are good. avoid drakkhen.

Re: SNES RPG's
Drakken wasn't that bad. It's a good game if you want something easy that tells a story. Other than that the graphics are terrible and it feels kinda clunky.
Eye of the Beholder was painfully boring.

Re: SNES RPG's
After giving it some thought, there really isn't very many bad RPGs and Adventures on the SNES. Yes, half of them are mediocre, but they're still not bad.
Eye of the Beholder
Tecmo Secret of the Stars
Brandish
Drakkhen
Lord of the Rings
Lagoon
Ultima: Runes of Virtue
That might be about it. I might be missing one or two but for the most part every other one is worthy of at least 3 stars.

Re: SNES RPG's
I was thinking of defending a couple of those games but they're not worth it. They were playable but not something I'd recommend.

Try Earthbound. It's not too complicated but it's still a good rpg.

Re: SNES RPG's
I never played Fire Emblem but from what I know of it I'd have to say no.
7th saga is pretty standard rpg stuff. I like it a lot but I know some people don't. It's one of those games that has the dreaded "nintendo difficulty".
For example, you enter the next zone and the monsters destroy you. Not just beat you up but totally dominate you.
Inindo is harder to explain. It has the typical RPG stuff but it also has wierd little things like doing spy missions and having tea with ninjas. FTW I know right?;D

Re: SNES RPG's
Fire Emblem is a Stategy RPG like Shining Force.
Knowing your odd duck games it will be confusing and not grippable. :P

Re: SNES RPG's
Yeah I bet I'd love Fire Emblem since that's my favorite kind of RPG. I really like games that require planning and skill. If an RPG hands me everything then I lose interest fast, unless it has a great story.
If you try anything I suggest I'd hope it's Inindo. It's not the best game ever made but it sure is cool. It's also the main reason I ever downloaded an emulator and eventually found RU, so in a way it's responsible for me being here.

Re: SNES RPG's
Boy Dudebro, not cerditing your parents for you being here? For shame. :P
Yeah I love it, at first I didn't know what to do, but now I restarted and only lost two conrades. On CollecToons I play my friend LK online and I pwn him badly with Ogma and Navarre.
