There's always a solution to a problem or issue, yes. i'm not sure. it was found with mcafee virus scanner (it was under C

WINDOWS\browser.exe with the trojan name as "Generic back door"), but my computer shut down. so i tried looking for it again, but it disappeared...

if you have WinXP, right-click "My Computer" and go to properties...the info is there.

Is it still acting up? Do another scan. Does the scan still find it?

Looks like Mcafee detected/ removed what ever it was. If anything else pops up just post here and someone will be able to help you out.

With McAfee, a good place to look is under Quarantined files, chances are the programs been removed, and it will tell you there, it's under Advanced Menu(in the lower left side)> Restore, and you should see 2 options Cookies and Files, look in both and it will tell you Quarantined items, but they don't show up on your scans as infected, am I making any sense?

um... i just don't know where the "advanced menu" is, but i think i got what you're saying
