Incorrect. You have to either be given or gameshark Mew.

Re: pokemon
No, I have Mew via a glitch, it's the one when you scroll the screen the exact way so you are immediately seen by a trainer then fly to another area just before his ! goes off(you can only do this with two people), then you go to any random trainer and battle, win, and after then taking a certain amount of steps your menu will automatically pop up and closure of this will lead to a battle of a wild pokemon (determined by the pokemon trainer's pokemon's special) the earliest point Mew can be caught is just after you complete the Nugget bridge on the North side of Cerrulian (Abra teleport, guy to the left of the bridge, kid on the road to Bill's house with a slowpoke)

i think this is the only one of the many "glitches" that actually works. other than this one, others like "buy 99 pokeballs, greatballs, ultraballs, and catch 99 caterpies and Celebi will appear" are just hoaxes to make people waste time

Re: pokemon
Man, this brings back memories. :P It felt sooo normal back then to confront the Elite Four with a team of all 99's. I was such a cheater.
Yeah, I got Mew via glitch. Cool stuff. People would always tell me you could catch Mew by surfing off of the S.S. Anne loading bridge. Of course, the trick was that you had to pull a bypass and keep the ship there until you could legally use a surfing pokemon. Never tried it though. :P Probably not true anyways...

Re: pokemon
Its not true. I found a way to bypass this, at about the age of 7. Don't know how I still remember, but what you do is get the HM, then go find a trainer (still on the SS Anne) and faint. that way, its as if you were never on the SS Anne, and it remains stationary. And there is no mew anywhere around the SS Anne, that's just a pokemon myth haha.

Re: pokemon
The myth is that you drive a nearby cargo truck and Mew will appear from underneath it. Total bogus, since there is no way to move the truck. You can get back to the ship area by using surf and glitching through the guy but the ship won't be on the dock (it's over to the left of the screen from the "setting sail" effect, lol).

i think that you trade pokemon with someone else who has the surf technique...

Both work, but I don't have any friends with the original pokemon, I'm really the only retro gamer in my entire school.

Re: pokemon
Ok for the record.. there is no mew near the ship.. there was just a big rumor that there might be one under a truck as such scenary in the game is rare.However.. there is an easy Mew glitch that can be used earlier in the game to catch Mew.
