Re: The snow here is driving me to drink...what's your favorite adult beverage?
Man did we ever get dumped on here. Was forecasted for 15 cm and we got 70. Going on 3rd day being snowbound, no snow plows spotted anywhere near me, no internet, running low on smokes... Shit sucks. But luckily by the grace of God we didn't loose power, we'd be in a heap of trouble if we did.

I've lived here for almost four decades and I think I'm finally sick of snow. I think I wanna move a bit south, just far enough for people to panic over an inch or two of light snow.

Wasn't it last year that you told me to stop crying over snow?

Typically, I'll go for beer. Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat is one of my favorites.

El Burro? Not sure I'm familiar with that one. Please, do tell.

You got the idea. Take a Moscow Mule, replace Vodka with Tequila, and a bit of simple syrup and 2 dashes of bitters. I like the Moscow Mule a great deal too!

If it counts, last night here in Georgia there was panic yesterday just because it rained and the temps were forecast to dropped below freezing overnight.

Georgia is a bit too deep south for me but you're on the right track.

It was -20 (with wind chill) yesterday here on Long Island. It physically hurt to be outside for longer than 3 minutes.

I've never seen a storm like this in my life, I spent about 4 hours shovelling our driveway, only to find out the storm killed my car. Something is seized up in there, I just hope it's not a total write off.

Is it bad that North Carolina got 10 to 12 inches and they declared a state of emergency, and then i thought "you sissy"
Keep in mind I plan on retiring somewhere on the Outer Banks.
love it there but I rely like my Tassachusetts....except for the taxes...
and the constant road construction...

She fired up ok, but as I was shoveling the little bit left, she sounded like a robot slowly powering down. The struggle was was getting more intense, so I went and turned it off, it would not start again.
Lights,radio,gui.. all normal, but not a sound from the car.
Got a new battery delivered by a relative of the wife today, installed it, tried turning it on a dozen times, and after giving up, said fuck it one more try, it turned over and is purring like a kitten.

This is dumb. It's 10 degrees outside. The lake by my apartment is freezing over. The heater unit will not turn off (set at 64) and I can only imagine what a nice electric bill I'll get this month.
Go away winter.

A lot of vodka drinkers in here. My all time favorite is Jameson Irish Whiskey mixed 50/50 with Coke Zero.

I'm only a vodka drinker because I think 99% of alcohol tastes like crap. Vodka is easier to take a shot and forget about.

Re: The snow here is driving me to drink...what's your favorite adult beverage?
We've had 16 feet of snow fall here over the last 2 months, it's a nightmare. One of the worst days of my life happened last week, my 2 year old daughter had a very high fever and was behaving oddly, just not being all too responsive and stuff like that, just constant moaning and crying. The feeling of paranoia that you kid is going to die and there is fuck all you can do about it because there is 4 feet of snow covering the entire 15 Km route to the hospital is not one I care to experience again.

Re: The snow here is driving me to drink...what's your favorite adult beverage?
Sorry to hear about your daughter with the high fever. My son used to spike really high fevers (104 F) when he was 1-3 years old. One was so bad it turned into a seizure, he was totally unresponsive, and it sucks. Good news is they usually grow out of it. He stopped the crazy spikes when he was probably 4. Good luck...

Yeah, kids do that. Freaks out new parents all the time. You just do the combo; Children's Motrin, wait two hours, Children's Tylenol, wait two hours, repeat.

Re: The snow here is driving me to drink...what's your favorite adult beverage?
...and to top it off, she got sick while she was spending her first 2 days alone with dadda. I gave her her breakfast and went out for a quick smoke, (I could see her through the window, so I wasn't being completely negligent) when I came back in she was just polishing off a small cup of milk that had been sitting out under the heat pump all night. I think that might have been what made her sick. Also, I brought her to this indoor kids play place that day too, so that could be where she picked it up. Anyway after 1 day of gearing up, 2 days of full blast sickness, and 2 days of recovery time, she's back to normal.
