Being honest here:
IMO, sexuality and the hormonal/ genetic programming which drives it are trouble - making by their nature.
I once saw a show about breeding horses, and they explained that in order to pick out the best of the males' sperm they did not allow the horses to breed directly {fuck}, instead they jacked the horse off into a condom to collect the semen for screening.
But the horse apparently cannot 'get it up' by himself; they have a special padded unit for him to get his front hooves up on and 'mount' so they can access his penis {to jack the horse off} but here's the most important part of all:
There needs to be a female horse within his field of vision {they had her in a separate stall with a window so he could see her}
or else he can't get his rocks off.
When I saw that, I felt as though I finally understood
myself {sexually speaking} for the first time in my life - it explained everything = and knowing that human males aren't the only ones infected with this genetic need to see the female form made me realize I'd been seeing things wrongly through a false filter of human arrogance .. this thing that says we're higher than animals.

I think the Sirens in that story represent LUST.
Ten is right when he said people seek out the forbidden fruit - and that's exactly what makes it so
fucking hot, it's FORBIDDEN!!
Sadly not even women are immune to this and I've seen several throughout my life who have made poor decisions because of it, despite the fact they had spoken out against such things {like cheating} in normal conversation.
I say 'not even women' because they seem more able to keep lust contained {or at least hidden} than
men, who apparently are born slaves to it.
{*side note - women seem to suffer from jealousy more than men, just an observation, but I've always felt this is part of the same equation}
There are obvious reasons for these different levels of ability to contain or control lust,
having mainly to do with the differences between the sexes {generally speaking} where hormonal drives are concerned.
Societal imposition of unwritten 'rules' on how we are to conduct ourselves while in a relationship complicate things even further.
But the bottom line is always: it's her way or the highway.
