It's a pretty cool game, the Zelda section is kind of annoying though, I hate fighting the old man.

I found the Balloon Fight part to be annoying, Death always kills me.

I can't beat the last boss: it feels like the timing is really awkward. I got him to transform, but I couldn't land many hits after that.

I know this is an old post but I just had to tell you that this may be the most awesome game in existence as well. I even did a playthough on the first level. With a little ummm changes. Tell me what you guys think.

Thanks, LOL. My dancing was pretty bad. I appreciate your honesty, sometimes it's hard for me to get good feedback. I was really just testing out using Sony Vegas Pro. Anyway, I'm a moron that was suppose to be the first level of Abobo's Big Adventure that I made a kind of skit with captions. THIS is the video I wanted to critique:

I think it could be a lot better if you actually recorded your voice rather than making the viewer read it all, even just one of those robot voice speech generators things might work. I like the random comments overall though, some funny lines in there.

Hmmm, that is a thought. Problem is I don't have a very good speaking voice. I'm no PewDePie, that's for damn sure. Can you recommend any speech generators I could try out.

Nothing is wrong with no-commentary play. I honestly think having no comments/words on the screen is better than not having voice commentary but leaving editing in your comments on the video. If you want to include comments/words and your videos, voice commentary would be better. I know Seahawk does playthroughs on his Youtube channel but he uses no commentary.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of going the no commentary route as well. I guess I'm just looking to put a new spin on Let's Play videos. What do you guys like to see? PewDePie I think might have cornered the market on this stuff however. LOL

I personally like both. If you have great audio equipment and have an entertaining personality/voice, then voice commentary is perfect for you. But if you are a little lackluster in that department and don't have quality equipment, might be best to not do any commentary. If you have any questions, you can always send a message to Seahawk (does no commentary on Youtube) and Cameron (does playthroughs with commentary on his Youtube channel).

You really need to have commentary, otherwise your videos will be no different from the next game play vid, you won't get many subs, or very few repeat customers. Unless:

1. You are playing extremely rare bootlegs/pirates, or otherwise very specific games. Basically a theme is needed, and you need to target that specific fanbase.

or:

2. You are really good player who can loop Gradius 40 times, like SH does.

The only thing PewDiePie has cornered is being a relatively nice guy who isn't funny at all, and thinks that screaming into the mic and making exaggerated faces is humor. I wouldn't suggest using him as a guide. Try someone more effective with commentary, like ShyGuyExpress, wolfman11983, davidr64yt, Diabetus, Slowbeef, or even Cr1itkal -- they commentate with dignity.

I'll check these guys out, thanks. I also am looking into MorphVOX voice changer software. As I said before I don't have a very good speaking voice and I wanted to bring maybe something different to the video game commentary. I might be able to be my own voice cast.

No problem! ShyGuyExpress focuses on Super Metroid hacks, wolfman11983 on classic RPG's and current RPG's, davidr64yt on Planetside and other games, Diabetus and Slowbeef are the pioneers of the Let's Play, and Cr1tikal is just dumb, silly, vulgar humor but he's good because he doesn't rely on the same joke with different variations.

About video commentary. Sometimes less is more. One thing I hate is when the video is delayed because the jabroni wants to stop and chit chat about what he's doing. We're watching and listening bro keep it moving.

Either that or people who insist on reading all text. Finding a decent let's play of any RPG is nearly impossible thanks to people's obsession over it.
