Innocent until proven guilty doesn't mean ignore the facts and assume everything is alright. I don't see any of the mods acting as if he's guilty by default. They're giving him time and options to clear his name. Potential cheating has to be dealt with or else the contest will be seen as a joke.

I don't see in the rules above, anything about such a requirement. from what I can see, it doesn't even say the scores will necessarily be DQ'd, although that would obviously make sense.

Please look at the update that was posted at the time the games were announced back on page 7 of this thread. This update was given at the very start of actual play and was an update to the earlier rules you quoted

Rule breaking will be dealt with by ways of action of the mods and admins, There's no doubt about that. To clear your name once and for all so we all may move on why don't you skype one of the mods or admins with You, Your Brother AND COUSIN together introduce yourselves and explain what happened instead of going back and forth in the forum, It would definitely save some of the aggravation and headache on the situation!

@ George -- thanks I was looking for that more detailed post. well it still looks to me like it means *scores* may be thrown out in the event they are questioned & lack sufficient evidence -- on a case-by-case basis. being as I didn't write it I don't know if that's what was meant but it seems to read that way to me.

I don't know who the mods are here but everyone who is laying on kernzy the burden of proof is definitely acting as though he is guilty by default; that's exactly what that means. I'm not saying that's wrong of them if that's how they roll. I am saying that is what they are doing & I don't personally agree. the accusers should have the burden.

I don't mean to suggest that anyone ignore the facts. I meant to suggest paying closer attention to the facts in order to see if they add up to proof of faked accounts. I don't think they do, & again his explanation is plausible (which is also a fact don't forget)

I admittedly don't know kernzy & looking at all this it honestly seems just as likely true as false, but again his story being plausible & lacking proof I don't see it being fair to do any worse than DQ dave & patrick & toss out the unproven scores.

A ruling was made 2 pages ago. Time to move on.

All of Kernzy and bros scores that are missing INPs have been deleted. There is nothing else to discuss.

This contest is for fun, on honor system. If any scores are questionable then INPs need to be on hand. If INPs are missing then the questionable score is deleted. That has been done. There is nothing else left to do.

No one is proving kernzy is or is not lying. All you can prove is his INPs are missing and that has been dealt with.

Gee I can't get back on here for awhile and then I see all sorts of Drama. Well after reading all this personally the only fair thing to do in my opinion is for scores that are in dispute and can't be proven those scores should be DQ'd. I would expect that if I had a score in dispute and couldn't prove it, it would be gone.

Not sure a DQ of the player is in order though. This has just got nasty and not reflective on the usual atmosphere around this site. I think part of the problem is the use of the word "cheating". Certainly if someone did not record a score properly then the score can be rejected but that doesn't constitute cheating in my mind.

We used to subscribe to the saying around here "Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence." I hope that hasn't changed.

I think the solution has been properly executed.
As for people i have said anything negative towards, they were "responses". I did not start any of those things.
I explained why I chose those names to prove themselves via facebook, because I knew someone would fail. The same thing that happened to me. It was an experiment to show you's what I was up against, that was all. It kinda worked! It was nothing personal. But it was nice to see a few pictures.
As for signing up to Highscore.com from Birmingham, I never thought it would matter. just quicker to click what was visible than to scroll down. I never envisaged this being used as evidence against me 3 months later.

Sean is his middle name. He just chose to use that instead. Many, many people do not use their real full names on facebook. It's no big deal. He does not use his FB account. He signed up, used it for a week or 2, never to return.
I am very thick skinned, and can put up with more abuse than can maybe get dealt towards me.
I live in a rough area. I have been stabbed in the chest, my house has been burgled 7 times, 6 months ago a gang attacked me, leaving stitches on my face. That's life around here.
Even though i can take a beating, there's still a soft area inside. This was provoked by these accusations. It's not cool to be accused of cheating, after all these years.
If I have offended anyone, I apologize. It was nothing personal. I was forced into a corner and my hackles were up.
Maybe this is my last words on this subject?

Apparently I hear that another gamer in the Internet Gaming Bash has cheated besides myself and I believe that it shouldn't be fair that this person is still playing in the Internet Gaming Bash of the Year and I'm not currently playing in it if he cheated like I did. I believe that I should have another chance at playing in this tournament. I believe that this is a double standard that this member is still playing in the tournament and wasn't kicked out of the tournament like I was and not having another chance at competing.

I can't believe I missed all this. lol@ calling out the existence of Dr. Sage and Captain Jive Pants.

Here's the proof - like 30 of the top gamers both met Jamie and Chris (their real names) at this year's funspot, including Lakeman, Wagner, Nelson, Cram, etc. etc. etc. Wagner had dinner with all five of us. Chris was also their last year. Jamie and Chris finished 11-12 in the main despite never having played between 80% and 90% of the games. Their results speak for themselves. They also have vetted scores on Aurcade from four different referees who live in 3 different states.

If Kernzy isn't DQ'd for cheating he should instead be DQ'd for poor sportsmanship. It takes a special type of person to call those who want to maintain the integrity of a tournament "nobodies" and "bottom-feeders". The accusations against him were laid out in a clear and professional manner -- the response was not in kind. An awful precedent will be set if the tournament continues with him in it, and while it hasn't been 100% proven that he cheated, the evidence is extremely overwhelming.

In fact, that awful precedent has already been set. JCB just took the lead by asking to play in the tournament again, even though he is still trying to lie to the DK community by setting up a stream at Twitch and playing under a new identity. His further attempts to mislead the CAG community prove that his apologies are hollow.

I want to make one thing clear: JCB was asked to post in this thread about that issue. So, people ganging up on him (don't care about his past infractions) should stop doing that for this matter. I have no idea why he was asked to do it or in the matter that it was done. This only seems to have made things into a circus show.

I do agree that Kernzy didn't make much of an effort to prove his innocence, but at the same time he didn't make much of an effort to disprove his guilt, either. Instead, he tarnished himself with how he carried his actions.

Kernzy, before you blow up on me. I am not saying you falsified your scores. And even if you did, i don't care. I don't care about anyone's accomplishments.

Me personally, i wouldn't ask my brother to play in this tourney and i would never have him submit scores if he wasn't a huge gamer. There were many small things that didn't seem right, but again, I still can't prove anything as much as i can disprove things.

I choose not to get involved in the decision making process of who stays and who goes but i will say that there has been a bit too much passiveness in these matters and they are being dragged out a bit much. A decision needs to be made.

If the bar was set for Cheetah then the bar should be met with dq'n kernzy for not providing enough evidence. Unfortunately, bringing in relatives who have no means of submitting scores other than his house, makes him instantly responsible for them and any infraction on them will, undoubtedly and unfortunately, reflect onto him. And yes, as noobies to this, we should have been clearer with the rules. To be expected from a first-run scenario.
