Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
Since we want to play straight up by the rules here, the rules say nothing about co-leaders.

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
We should just change the wording to say "a representative from your team". If no one posts by the time allotted then the team should get a penalty of some kind. Who wants to win by a technicality anyways?

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
All I know is that my team have posted in our private threads telling me to hurry my butt up so they can start playing for real scores.
---------- Post added at 04:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 AM ----------
As in weve been abiding by the official rules that the team captain needs to announce players.
@seahawk regarding me not speaking up earlier:
I didn't notice, you brought attention to it with your team is m.i.a. post.

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
My question is does it really matter? I think the whole thing is stupid and pointless. This is supposed to be a contest about games and scores right? It seems this kind of rule needlessly punishes people for real life getting in the way or not being active constantly. I think it should be fine for another member to step in and post before the deadline. I don't know how things are on other teams but we all talk about this stuff and any of us could step in and speak with the same message, the messenger is just a formality.

There is no official thing as co-leaders.
The rule is more or less to prevent confusion from multiple people from one team making official posts.
It is too late to start being hard core about this rule since this is the 4th time it has been broken and two of the times were by me and Tenser.
We should decide how we want to handle this in future contests though. Should a single team representative or an official team captain handle these types of things? IMO being strict about this type of rule just puts too much responsibility and pressure on the team captain and takes some of the fun out of it. But discuss.
For the rest of this contest it will just be the first person from your team that post the players.

I was just joking, seeing how I will be playing alone and second place is at least 7.5K it doesn't seem very likely anymore.
What does everyone think of this game so far?

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
Sorry everyone, I've had company in town all weekend.
I agree with Kong's ruling, though. It shouldn't matter who calls the team.
It's already been stated, but Seahawk is our man this round. I can't get this game to work, anyway.

I too had bugged WB to put me and Jojo in the second time, so I would rather see anyone can call it but leaders can overrule.

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
I agree that in lieu of a leader/co-leader, and player/team should be able to volunteer and jump in, but can be overridden if necessary by the leaders of the team.
We used to be way more hardcore about this in past contests which is why I think the co-leader spot was created to begin with. Specifically in Clash of the Titans there was a time I could not get to a PC to bench someone after we won a round, and even though other people on the team mentioned it, the rule was that it could only come from me.
Having said that, I am more than happy to have more flexibility in this area, and I commend Seahawk for stepping up to the plate on his own, and win or lose proving once more what a great gamer he is. Great job amigo!

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
I think every team needs a second in command. Every team, except for VD, has had someone else post during the team leader's absence. I guess Steven is just trying to be vicious or something.

Re: Team Contest VI - Tag Team
I was originally going to make a judgement on this as soon as it was brought up but since it involved my team and would have been in favor of my team I decided not to weigh in and let Kong decide.

Joz, I think VB's co-leader is Jim5Cents/Dojah. Dojah has unfortunately been out (as we all know).
I used to love the old team pages we used to have. In addition to just being cool, it made this type of thing so much easier. Having to do everything through the Social Group is pretty confusing.

I agree with that Joz. I think the co-leader thing is actually a pretty good idea. For example, it was necessary to have someone take charge of Team EC for the last few days with WB being out, and unable to use a computer for 3-4 days.

Not to harp on the point, but that is one of the cool things about each team having its own Team Page like it used to have. You could see leader/co-leader easily, and find out more (i.e. Team Stats). I miss that page.

The link you put goes to the Social Grouop which is cool, but not as cool as the team pages,

Kinda like how VB has to suffer because real life happened to Dojah?
Strange how the letter of the law was the ruling in that case, but not in this one.

I am the co-leader for VB. Steven isn't being vicious, he is just adhering to his responsiblites.

I posted that we would call back Chris this round and play. But he can not play and has to submit a zero. I would love to have Joz come in and over rule that. You think that would fly - no.

This was a rule that had been broken several times before and I think that we are all in agreement should be removed and has at least been removed from this contest.

Obviously not, as both Cassidy and I disagree.
It is the consistancy of rulings that gets me. This site has take a fairly hard stance on following the rules, specifically on the grounds of cheating. I'm not saying that anyone cheated in this case, but there was a rule very specifically about how team captains had to submit players, but since it appears that the rule would penalize someone or a team in particular, there was an idea to bend the rules.
Earlier in this tournament, there was a player who would not be able to play, the rules were very specific that this player would be eliminated and even though the circumstances were drastic, the ruling was made to follow the letter of the rule.
So, why is there no consistancy in these rulings?

You've been out-voted, Jim. 3 teams to 1. Also, what does it matter? I named Seahawk as our participant for this round last night. His current score was submitted after I named him the participant. No harm, no foul.
The only way this would've become an issue is is Kong/Tenser had've rolled a 1 last night before I posted.
If you think about it, there was perfect consistency in both cases. In the Dojah injury case, we had a vote. You guys lost out. In this "team captains must post" case, we had a vote. You guys lost out again. In every instance where we've had a dispute, we take a vote. Majority wins.
