Maybe they're worth more alive than dead. Which pretty much makes this bounty hunting.
A livestock farmer who bounty hunted cheetahs. Damn if that wouldn't be something I would constantly boast about.

A fit adult human can outrun any land animal in a long distance race.
Egyptian greyhound wins any land race in the range of about 5 miles.
I'm guessing some bird or water creature wins an over all endurance race.

Re: Current events!
@DN- Nah if you read the article they make it clear that the guy was just a farmer losing his goats to cheetahs daily. He was sipping some tea when he saw a cheetah take one of his goats(how awesome is that story already?) so he rounded up some local youths and they set up an ambush. He said he needs to be compensated for his losses, no mention of a reward or sale of the animal.
@Kong- I've heard it argued that certain wolves might beat humans but I got no links to anything concrete. It's a hard thing to compare really but mostly humans have the edge.
I also think I heard the albatross travels the furthest without stopping, across entire oceans and stuff.

Re: Current events!
I really doubt that. Humans can stay awake for days and jog nearly the entire time. No other mammal comes anywhere close to that. Also we sweat way better and running on 2 legs makes it a lot easier to breath. We maintain our body temp very well. Plus we have shoes.
Pretty sure Egyptian Greyhound beats all wolves.
I think albatross glide. Sounds like cheating. Even if gliding was against the rules several birds can crush humans on distance, time and speed.
I wonder if there are any aquatic creatures that can beat birds. I guess shark since some of them never sleep or stop moving.

The question is how many other mammals have attempted it? I doubt very many.

Westboro attempting to picket Mandela's funeral
Actually I kind of hate to even mention this. Would it be in the better interest of everyone to just not even mention anything about Westboro ever?
Anyways it's pretty ironic considering Mandela strongly supported South America's freedom of speech. Too bad the humor is lost to clowns.

Do they ever actually follow through on this stuff... seems like 9 times outta 10 they just announce they will and then that's the last you hear of it.

They're not truly religious because true religion forbids hate and violence, which far-right people completely misunderstand.

You sure about that?
Religion can be hateful and violent and it can be loving and peaceful. It is just a system of worshiping a super human power. Which makes Westboro a religion. They just happen to be one of the more sucky ones. Still a religion though.

They say horrible things and go out of their way to say them at the worst time/place but all they do is talk. Some other religious groups have done far worse.

Re: Current events!
I don't believe that the Westboro Church is a true religion because it doesn't exactly follow proper religious laws, which forbid their kind of aggression, so that disqualifies that they be a true religion. I realize what harm religious extremists do, and that much of the world's problems originate from it. I oppose religion of any kind in a secular, progressive government. However, I also realize what good religion does, and don't generally decry all of it just because of a few extremists' actions.

Re: Current events!
This is a semantic argument (argument over the definitions of words), which is the lamest type of argument so this will be my last most on the subject. You are using the wrong definition when you say they are not a "true religion". What you mean is something like "they are not the most common religion." Or they are not a "loving religion". I think your point is religions shouldn't be judged by the extremists. I don't think anyone here was doing that.
The definition of religion is "a system of worshiping a super human power". Nothing more, nothing less.
Secular is the exact opposite of religious.
The Westboro church believes the most important parts of the bible are a man laying with a man is an abomination and god destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and then flooded the entire world because he was pissed at mankind's rampant sinning. Not sure why they fixated on just those parts of the bible but regardless those are religious views.
Couple strange things about Westboro. They spend $200,000 a year flying to funerals. They receive the money from lawsuits and from their own members. There are only 40 members and mostly they are all from the same family. Their stated goal is to spread god's wrath. The Hell's Angels (biker gang) go to most of their funeral protest and create a barrier wall to keep them away from them away from the funeral.

Re: Current events!
So sad actually. I mean its one thing to have a snowball fights amongst each other and willing participants, its another to start pelting people's cars and shoving buckets of snow into their car while they are just trying to pass by without hurting any of you. The kid who dumps the snow bucket in the car is actually the Tight End for the Oregon Ducks haha. I think he got suspended from the team or something.

Re: Current events!
My religion only recognizes a few "true religions" but that's a religious view so I won't argue that.
People like the Westboro churchmembers focus on only one part of the Bible because it validates how they desire power above others, which is the main cause of all hate and prejudice. I don't support homosexuality but I don't advocate that society brutally punish homosexuals, because I don't want some kind of excessive control of the situation. They don't understand that, so they villify the "enemy" to the extreme so that they justify their selfish interests.
