Re: Walking Dead on AMC
Good episode because it will move nicely into the season finale. I expect Pete will die next week. Honestly I'm more excited for next season depending on if the series is going to go the way I think it will be going.

Re: Walking Dead on AMC
I got a feeling that when Rick was saying something about "they'll come for us, they'll hunt us" he wasn't talking about those incompetent Alexandria people. They spend all this time talking about how inept they are so it's gotta be someone more threatening. I think next episode is gonna introduce the W group. And one of Ricks group is gonna die. Maybe more than one.

Re: Walking Dead on AMC
It boggles my mind how the Alexandrians have even survived this long. They seem so dysfunctional. I guess you can chalk it up to mostly luck.

Also how did Pete put up an even fight against Rick? I'm sorry if a surgeon fought a police officer, I'd go with the policeman winning that fight 9/10 times. Just look at what Rick did to Tyreese. I wish they made the fight more lopsided in Rick's favor than it looked.

Re: Walking Dead on AMC
Well it's a show with limited episodes so they have to quickly hammer home the idea that they aren't very capable. If they added in scenes of them being somewhat capable it might've confused some people. It's better to be blunt when you don't have a lot of time for character development.
Pete is a big guy. Drunk people feel less pain. Wife beaters usually aren't all that weak.

Yeah I just feel if Rick could handle Tyreese, he could handle Pete. Pete is a big dude though.

Re: Walking Dead on AMC
On paper a guy like Rick easily puts a guy like Pete down because of his experience and how feral he is. When it comes down to actually fighting though the paper goes out the window. The tougher guy doesn't always win, sometimes they get knocked out on the first hit. I think the showrunners were smart for making it more real. Rick still won but he had to work for it. It was a true fight to the death, even if no one died.

True, as long as Rick won, it doesn't really matter. And it made for a good fighting scene.

The only part of it all that I don't like is how quickly Rick flipped personality. He went from being a desperate father and reluctant(usually)leader to Shane in like three episodes.

I can see it to be honest. I thought he already became Shane-like when they killed all the cannibals in the church. Most of his civility was gone at that point. Luckily they found Alexandria and that sort of brought him back. But then seeing Pete and lusting for Jessie sent him back into the animalistic/Shane behavior.

Re: Walking Dead on AMC
It's time for someone to slap him and scream in his face "REMEMBER WHEN YOU HAD TO KILL YOUR BEST FRIEND FOR THIS SAME SHIT?". I like this show but the way it's written makes it seem like the characters have very short memories and no one speaks up and reminds people of simple shit like this.

So the season finale was really close to how it all went down in the comics. Pete killed Diana's husband and Rick killed Pete.
Morgan is back and he kicked major ass tonight. Hope he becomes a regular cast member next season.
Very satisfied with tonight's episode, looking forward to the Wolves next season. Their walker army should wreak havoc on Alexandria.
Also, Abraham had a great quote tonight: "There is an ocean of shit out their that you people don't know shit about. Rick knows every grain of said shit."

Yup good episode. Now game of thrones comes back and then when that's done the new walking dead spin off starts. Should be good.

Only a few more days. It's finally here. It's going to be pee pee pants city here real soon. JDM is going to be an amazing Negan.

Also this is my favorite season so far I think. The only things I really disliked was Glenn's dumpster fiasco and the mid season finale cliffhanger with Sam saying "Mom" but nothing came out of that specifically.

How about Carol and her magic gun? That was pretty stupid.

The machine gun thing she used last episode on the saviors? Yeah that was bad. The show has always done unrealistic things like that though. Even Carol setting everyone on fire in that other episode. Highly unlikely that would set the entire room on fire, but it did. The Glenn dumpster dive was just bad writing.

Re: Walking Dead on AMC
At least the room of fire and the dumpster are within the realm of reality and can be explained, even if it's a stretch. Her uzi in her sleeve with caseless ammo is just ridiculous. It brings up too many questions that can't be excused-
1- How did she fit it there in the first place? To fire that rapidly and accurately it can't be some tiny gun designed to hide in a purse or a shoe.
2. Caseless ammo is pretty rare from what I hear, how did she get some in rural Georgia or w.e they are now? If it's regular ammo then why didn't it burn the shit out of her sleeve and arm?
3. How did all those armed and aggressive guys get surprised by someone they had at gunpoint? She's such a quick draw that no one even fired a shot when they saw her lift her arm? One guy was in pretty good shape after and he didn't return fire? Was he too stupid to realize that she must've used her whole clip in that barrage?
Ugh it was bad. I don't mind movie magic and plot armor but that was extremely lazy writing. It's no wonder they hide the gun and never showed it. Carol needs to die to make up for that piece of garbage.

Re: Walking Dead on AMC
Wow, AMC actually managed to fuck that up. The entire scene was going so well and then they end it with a goddamn cliffhanger. They had one fucking job and they messed up. JDM did a good job though. Just bewildered how they thought this was a good idea. A huge fuck you to the fans. Jeez.
---------- Post added at 01:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:20 AM ----------
I have to believe that this was from the AMC higher ups. No way Kirkman or Gimple would do it this way. Even on Talking Dead, Kirkman looked depressed most of the time and Gimple's answers to "Why leave it as a cliffhanger" was pretty apologetic and I didn't get the sense that it was his decision.

Re: Walking Dead on AMC
I'm not too happy with the whole episode really. Waste of time with Carol and Morgan, besides the part where Morgan finds his balls finally and they meet the BMX people. They extend the episode a half hour and then fill most of it with the crew being totally unaware of the obvious trap they were being guided into until it was too late to do anything about it. For most of the characters that's not a big deal but Abraham, Eugene and Rick didn't figure it out until after the zombie chain gang? Stupid writing. A cop a military nut and well read know it all should've seen the trap after the second roadblock. The cliff hanger was icing on the turd cake.
The only parts I really liked were Negan and Gabriel deciding he wants to step up and not be a coward, in that one scene my opinion of him changed completely.
