Blanch was the character. Rue McClanahan was the actress. It's sad, but she had a pretty long life, though. No GG reunion.

Yeah I liked that show too, and was so glad to see 'Maude' {Beatrice Arthur} in it since she was one of my favorites as a kid - right up there with Carol Burnett.
Beatrice died last year around this time.
We're gettin' old, WB.
I remember how my parents reacted to hearing on the radio that Elvis had died, and I never really understood then, but now I do:
It's a time marker, an indication of the passing of an age, and with it the loss of familiar icons.
Dang, now I'm all sad like.

But I suppose we should be glad to still be here to talk about it.

Good points Joe. I always liked Maude, and really like the Carol Burnett Show.
It's funny you mention that we're old. I had the exact same feeling recently. I was trying to explain the Carol Burnett show to a girl I know, and she had no idea what I was talking about. I was like, "yeah and Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, and Tim Conway were great!". She kept saying "who?" after each name, and I gave it up.
