Actually, on the random bracket thing:

Kong had PM'd me asking if we should rearrange the brackets. As much as my team would have preferred it to be that way I had to state as a Mod that the rules were already laid down and there shouldn't be any changes to them.

My appologies to my team, but it was previously stated before.

Yeah I realized that but this does suck. We automatically lose two of our four finalists. So much for all the effort up to this point.

That's kind of along the lines of when Kong was out and you were going to make the call on bonus games being who completed them first. I was pretty sure it was EC, but I felt that as a mod it wouldn't be the right thing to do because I didn't understand this to be in the rules Kong mentioned, even though it would have probably meant my team would have won that distinction. I stand by the decision I made even though EC didn't end up getting the nod in that one. I agree that as annoying as it is, the rules are the rules sometimes.

Let's see what Tanc says, though.

While it's true that its harder to farm in this game than to play fairly there may be another problem. I read on Gamefaqs that you can flip the score at 1 million points. The good thing is (supposedly) it keeps your high score right before you flipped it in the high score box. While I doubt any of us will do it if two people do flip it, it'll have to be knocked down to farm like 1942 for the NES.

I know Tenser. I wasn't mentioning it for that reason. I was just saying that sometimes as mods we should try to make decisions that while not being popular (even with one's own team) are only fair and follow the set out rules as much as possible.

Wow. I've missed a lot today.

I haven't taken the time to read all this debate back and forth, but I can give you my answer: No substitute allowed. Period. End of story.

I'm happy to hear your getting married and understand your argument, but we've had other tournaments in the past where things like this have come up and no subs were allowed. That's the breaks, sometimes. Sorry. No sub.

ugh...as a vb member, i'm ticked, but has a game mod, and someone that is supposed to enforce the rules of the site, i have to be in agreement. subs. shouldn't be allowed for tourney at this point. if in the first round, if someone had made a choice, then backed out before the first score was submitted, then i could understand finding a replacement, but the scenario that is being presented suggests having a replacement before the tournament finals and that is some crazy math.

concerning the comments of bringing in a ringer, cassidy is the ringer for balloon fight and i am confident that he would beat anyone in ru at that game.

well if you beat josh of silence and i beat guru, then we can play our head to head match quickly and if i win, ill have time to put up a final score. if you win, i expect a wedding gift in the form of a vb first place.

Says who? You don't have to fall in line and automatically agree because your a mod. If you have a problem then let people know.

So you're unhappy with the ruling but you agree it's within the rules? That's the same way I felt about the way GOM got screwed on the random placement thing. You guys might lose one member but we automatically lose 2. I still think that sucks.

i dont think its unfair, those are the rules we all agree too when we enter the tournament, but it wouldnt be like vb to not put up a stink, on that note: I dont know why any of you turds are even going to try to compete against the breed, you WILL fail.

alright, then not as a mod, but as a gamer that would be pissed if someone from gom or ec requested a sub at this point. i have no problem with not allowing a sub.

concerning tournament seedings, i was giving you guys a hard time about it earlier just to push buttons, the placements hurt vb and ec too. by being paired on the same side of the bracket, our opportunites to advance are limited as well, if separated, we had a chance to advance 2, now it is only 1.

@ten, concerning the random assigning of seeds, it is possible to place each position? asking for future consideration into tournament placement.

I agree with Tanc. I haven't had any problems with ArcadeOX in this tournament.

I'm not in the final, so I am not going to cast an official vote. However, Kong I will say that your Arcade OX totally smokes NES Cafe IMHO. NES Cafe makes the game sluggish and the colors totally whacked while Arcade OX plays smoothly. The only real issue with it is that sometimes the score registers as a blank black/white screen, but this can be fixed 90% of the time by making sure the POPOUT is TOGGLED.
