360 vs. PS3 - Page 2

I think one point people forget is that both systems have almost the same games besides exclusives. 360 has more FPS but other than that it's pretty much the same.

Btw Yaslys comment bugged me because Rachet and Clank isn't anything special on the PS3, it could easily be on 360 or Wii and be the same exact game. To claim that's the reason you like a high end console is just silly. It's basically a waste of a system that costs so much, go buy a ps2.

I think they all claim a five year lifespan at the very least. Of course that can change at anytime depending on sales and new technology.
This came up recently on Xbox.com and I'm pretty sure an employee of Microsoft said they plan on 10 years. I bet they heard Sonys claim and adjusted theirs, or vice versa.

In reality they would prefer a shorter lifespan so they can get more money. They know this would be unpopular so they don't do it, for now.

Why would they make more money by putting out consoles? Microsoft lost money on every 360 sold when it launched. Same with Sony and the PS3. Wii is the only console that made profit.

I didn't mean they make money on consoles. I mean with a new system you have to buy new games(even if they aren't any better than the previous version) and new stuff to go with it. It's like how Sony makes a new PSP and decides to make it download only so you can't use stuff from the normal PSP. They claim good intentions but most people realize is a money grabbing gimmick.

Either way they're all selfish, money grabbing bastards who don't really care about what they make as long as people keep buying it.

I am pretty sure that it is because of the alarmingly high amount of piracy that went on with the older PSPs. Try again, Sony.

Not all of them. At least we have Tim Schaffer. I heard Brutal Legend was no good, but from what I played they tried really hard to make it a great game.

Sony says that the Go isn't supposed to replace the 3000, but is for those who are always on the go. Granted, they tried to wrap it up better to stop piracy, and you also don't get the bargain of used games, but let's face it, sooner or later, we're all going to end up playing games digitally, on everything.

I have a PS2. I wouldn't buy a PS3 just because it plays Ratchet and Clank.
I said it was better becaues it can play Ratchet and Clank.

i feel the same way. also the 360 has better exclusives in my opinion. anything that i'd want to play on the ps3 my 360 already has, but the ps3 does not have Halo, Gears of War, or Left 4 Dead, so yeah i'm sticking with 360 all the way. plus don't forget the fact that we 360ites have better controllers, those ps3 ones are so light its like i'm not holding anything and the thumbstick placement is much better on the 360 having one higher up on the unit than the other. 360 WINS. Buying a system for one game that's not even improved much from PS2 is a bad reason to buy such an overpriced system.
Xbox could easily play the game, it's just not allowed because of some lame exclusive deal with sony so they can draw in a younger crowd.

For those who interested in Blu Ray movies, though, the PS3 is very nice. That's still all I use it for.

I don't think anyone is claiming obsession, but Modern Warfare, Borderlands, Left 4 Dead, are 2 really fun games. Why be a hater on quality product? We aren't talking Fracture or anything.

How does that make sense? Does the same thing apply to people who are obsessed with other types of games or is there some magical difference with FPS? What understanding are they missing?

A first person perspective does not change the fact that they are video games. Being obsessed with FPS is just as valid as any other video game. To claim otherwise is just stupid, sorry.

I'm with you on that DB. It doesn't really matter what the genre is, a good game is a good game. I haven't played as many FPS as some of you, but there are some really good ones. I like RPG's, adventure, and action games too, but they are not good because of the genre they are in - only if they are good or not.
