Mega Men vs. Grumpy Old Men vs. Shining Force
in Team Marathon I
This is a contest for teams only. If you are not on a team you can try to be an obstacle block for those that are playing. Read last paragraph for details.
The winning team members will receive badges and a tally will be kept counting the total # of first, second and last place standings your team receive.
There are two stages to this contest.
Stage one starts now and ends at this time Monday (check the post time above).
Stage two starts when stage one finishes. It lasts until two teams complete the marathon, leaving the third team in default third place.
Stage one: The Strategy Round.
Each team selects two console games, the
"Marathon Games", and one high score enabled game, the
"Bonus Game". The team captains PM their selections to me. I will share the PM with all of the mods who will keep the info secret and not act on this info. That way all teams are equal. Once the team captain PM me they can not change their mind. If you do not PM me before this time Monday then your team is skipped.
Stage two: The Competition Round.
First team to submit a screen shot of the end of all the
Marathon Games wins. The other two teams will continue to compete for second place.
Bonus
The first team to finish all
Marathon Games will receive a 1,500 point bonus for each high score they have in the
Bonus Games. The team captains can divide the points however they want.
A team can choose:
Game Name/System - Team Save State
Game Name/System - Individual Member Save States
Game Name/System - No Saves.
If it is on NES then also:
Game Name/System - Team Save RAM
Game Name/System - Individual Member Save RAM
If it is on NES and has passwords or codes:
Game Name/System - Keystroke Movie
If it has on other systems and has passwords or codes:
Game Name/System - Honor System - No Codes
The team that picks the game can pick any of the options above and all members have to obey.
The bonus game will not have any special options. It functions normally - high score wins.
All of the mods will have the advantage of knowing when someone has completed an individual game. The mods have been instructed to not share this info with the rest of their team. Do not ask them how the other teams are progressing.
You do not have to be on a team to submit a score in the Bonus Games. In the event that a high score in a Bonus Game is held by a rouge player at the end of the contest then that player will get the bonus, not the teams.
