Story:

Resident Evil 2 begins on September 29, 1998, in the small mountain town of
Racoon City. The town has become overrun by a zombie infestation caused by
Umbrella Coperation's "T-Virus" and almost everyone has fallen victim to the
infestation.
Resident Evil 2 follows two main protagonists, rookie police officer Leon Scott
Kennedy and College Student Claire Redfield, sister of Chris Redfield from the
first title. In town they discover the devistation Umbrella created and have to fight
their way out of the infested city.

Resident Evil 2 continues similar gameplay mechanics from Resident Evil 1, you
control either Leon or Claire (depending on which disk is inserted) from at third
person perspective as you shoot down zombies that stand in your way. Also,
players will encounter various puzzles to solve as they search their way out of this
nightmare.
For first-timers, the fixed camera angles and the unique targeting system will be a
little hard to get used to, but once you have it down, it'll become second nature.
Another important essential is ammo conservation, in Resident Evil 2, ammo can
be a bit scarse making players choose either to kill the zombie or run past it.
Each of the two protagonists play differently; Leon is stronger and can take more
damage, while Claire can carry more equipment. Because the two different
characters have different play styles, it allows for multiple playthroughs based on
which character you play as first.
Graphics:
Although Resident Evil 2's graphics can be very pixilated when zoomed in,
Capcom used a unique apporach with the fixed camera angles, keeping models
and backgrounds at a fixed angle allowed for more detailed environments.
Sound:
Like all Resident Evil titles, the songs aren't meant to stand alone. In combat
against zombies, it really adds to the tension the series has but on it's own a song
doesn't sound as nail-bitting as it was.

Resident Evil 2 is a solid entry in the franchise, never getting to easy or difficult with
plenty of scares to go around.
