Do you prefer the rts game Starcraft or the MMO World of Warcraft?

For me it is no contest, Starcraft.

Why are you comparing to different games by the same company? Can't people like both? I've never played WoW but I'm sure it's one of the best MMOs out there, hard to deny. Starcraft is one of the best games ever made, also hard to deny.

I used to play Age of Empires 2 isntead of Starcraft. Too bad msn gaming zone went stupid.
My vote is WoW. Too bad it's too expensive, especially with the expansions, but that is not really a problem, one way or the other.

Why are you comparing an RTS like Starcraft to an MMO game like WoW? They're in separate classes on their own. Richard has only told me about Starcraft, so I cannot judge the game. But WoW on the other hand, I'm getting ready to try.

I know you can't really compare them, I just want to know which one people prefer.

I've never played, so it's hard to ask. Solidly, once I've played both I can tell you. If Diablo were an option, I've played that, and it's good.

For anyone who hasn't played it, StarCraft is a masterpiece in RTS games. WoW got it's start as a RTS btw, they made WoW to cash in on the success of the franchise.

I don't care for either. But I don't really like either genre.

I played me some Starcraft when I was a kid though. And I enjoyed it, but I sucked. That may be why I don't like it, or RTS games in general.

When I first played it on the N64( that version sucked) I wasn't great, but I'm decent on the PC version.

It looks to be awesome but I heard a rumor that it might be pay to play like a MMO. If true I won't be interested, free battlenet was a big part of why I liked playing it so much.

Also worth mentioning is StarCraft2. It also looks awesome.

Warcraft is pretty cool but I dislike the direction they went in with the heros. I'm not sure if they were in the first two games but in WarCraft3 they are just overpowered. Still fun but it ends up limiting your options.

I only really played Warcraft3. I might've played the others but if I did I don't remember it. If I had to choose a favorite Blizzard RTS it would be Starcraft without question. Warcraft just didn't do it for me.

aside from commodor my pc gaming is limited at best, im 100% percent sure i played warcraft on a console. 95% that it was a ps, might not have been warcraft 3.

Sorry I'm not trying to be difficult here but I didn't see any mention of a console version when I checked Wiki. I know Starcraft was on N64, maybe that's what you're thinking of?

anyway, it was warcaft 2: the dark saga, side note: i used to rock diablo on ps also
