Loved it when I played it back on the NES years and years ago. Nowadays, I find it close to unplayable for some reason.

Without Snakes revenge, we really wouldn't have the "real" sequel to Metal Gear, and possibly, no Metal Gear Solid at all.

Isn't the only reason that one exists because of the popular reception of Snake's Revenge?

I don't like it, but like drunkninja says, it's because how bad it was we got Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

It's not that the game was horrible, but as a Metal Gear game, it was a monstrosity.

I think everyone is right one way or the other. All of this still leads to Guns of the Patriots. Without any of the games before it, no MGS game would be good/
