Programmers?

I was wondering how many people here are programmers.
What languages do you use?
What skill level are you?
Any interest in an RU programming group?

I'm pretty good at PHP and mySQL and can meddle my way through AJAX/JavaScript, Flash/ActionAcript, C++, Java.

Re: Programmers?

JVM/Java
Flash
C/C++
Python
PHP/HTML/XML/CSS etc...
some work with assembly

Keep in mind that I'm not programing is not my specialty, but I am capable (I don't know how you define skill but I'd say I'm intermediate). My preference is working in a Java enviornment, but I can work with other code just as well. I like to help and I have some free time all the way up to early - mid August.

Re: Programmers?

Languages: Java and C/C++, general Verilog and ASM
Good surface mounting and hand soldering skills

I work on embedded microsystems projects.

Stuff I've done/worked on:
Assembled an air hockey table that can be operated in either the usual 1v1 mode or in a 1 player mode, with one goal protected by an automatic guard system. 10 rods on inside the table on one goal, and two rows of 10 light sensors are in the center. Depending on which sensors are covered as the puck crosses the center rows, 2 of the 10 rods will pop up to block the puck.

An application that makes Kinect work with Google Maps. Video.

Something else I can't talk about since it's my current job. I helped demo it at a conference this past May.

BASH/PERL/PHP/C/C++/C#/ASP.NET/VB/SQL I specialize in automation. I got a knack for finding really stupid processes and making them run better.

Re: Programmers?

Interesting alternative to college - aGupieWare: Online Learning: An Intensive Bachelor's Level Computer Science Program Curriculum, Part II

I personally wouldn't follow the instructions on that site but if you are planning on getting a BS in computer science then I think it is definitely worth serious consideration.
