Civilization 5

I just got this game with my new PC and I'm in love already. I made this topic to see if anyone else has it or plans on getting it so we can play some multiplayer. It needs a pretty good PC to play but if you're into this kind of game it's totally worth it. If anyone has any questions I'll try to answer them if I know the info(I'm still learning).

Anyways, I still haven't figured out how to get IV off my computer, I think I actually need to put the disk in. I'm not really sure what more I could expect from this series, does this one have the same feel as the last? Can you mix things up in any kind of new way?

Looks like alot of fun. I need a better computer though. I might get this game (or the sequels to it) when I get a new computer in a few years.

Without the discs to uninstall you'll have to do a manual search and delete any files associated with it. I forget what name the Civ4 stuff was on my PC was but it was obvious like Firaxis or w/e. There should be a folder in program files. Just make sure it's the right one before you mess with it.

Well yeah it's got the same Civ feel but they made changes and streamlined it. One big example is they got rid of the "stack of doom" and made it more like a real strategy game. Now units cannot occupy the same tile(unless moving) and you have to actually strategize.

They also added city states that are not competing to win the game. They go about their business and you can befriend them or take them out. When you take them out you can either annex them into your empire or make them a puppet state and get all the benefits without any of the economic burden.

Besides that they also changed a lot of the gameplay like the removal of the religon system and adding a really cool social policy feature that allows you to customize your policies in great detail.

Those certainly are some steps up, but I don't know if I'll be buying this game anytime soon. (assuming it's $40 or $50)

It's well worth the price. If you stay alert you can probably find it on sale in stores or through steam.

I would check it out, but I just bought the complete edition of Civ IV a couple of months ago and I have still not had time to truly dive into the game.

There's a Civ 5?! Wow. I'm still on the complete version of Civ 3 and still in complete awe of its wondrousness. I absolutely adore it.

I've played the original, 3, and IV. Civ V is in the house, but would have to find a way to run it on this and I'm busy trying to work other things out first! Wish I could play it though!

I also have this version, but unfortunately the disk is inside the old computer, in which the disk drive is stuck shut =(.

It's a wonderful way to pass the time.

There is usually a pin whole on the front of disk drives. You can insert something like a paper clip and it will force the drive to open.

Try playing Civ 1. I actually have fond memories of Napolean scrunching up his face whenever I displeased him(which happened a lot).
