how to save on snes

anyone know what button to use to save

cause I used save slots and when I log back in I couldn't load the game

Did you clear your cache / cookies in between you saving and loading the game up again?

Cookies and cache wont have an effect on saves but a third party program that deletes your temp folder, such as CCleaner, will delete your saves.

Some definitions.

There are two different types of saves.

The first is "SRAM", also called Battery Saves, Cart Saves or In-Game Saves. This is the save system that the original game supported. Most RPGs and adventure games such as Final Fantasy and Zelda have SRAM. Most other older games did not.

The second type is "Save State". This is the save system that emulation adds to the games.

SRAM usually has to be created in a specific location such as an inn and just saves your general stats, level, items and location.

Save State can be created at any time and saves every thing.


If a game supports SRAM then you can use either Score Mode or Full Mode on our site and it should happen automatically, just follow the in game instructions the same as you would on a real SNES.


If you want to use Save States then you need to select Full Mode. In SNES Full Mode press Shift + F1 to save to slot 1. Press F1 by itself to load slot 1. F1-F10 are all different save slots. So Shift + F2 will save to slot 2. F10 loads slot from 10.
