Controllers Troubleshoot

Hello, I'm new to the forums and have an issue with getting either of my controllers to work on games.

  1. Are you interested in using TeamViewer (more info below)? No
  2. What is your OS? Example Vista, XP, Mac OSX, etc.Windows 7
  3. What is your browser? Example Firefox 3.5, Internet Explorer 7, etc. Firefox
  4. Post a link to one game you are having problems with. Lufia 2: Rise Of The Sinistrals - Super Nintendo
  5. What Play Mode is causing the problem? Example ArcadeOX Score, Java Full, etc. I've been launching games in ArcadeOX Full
  6. Has it ever worked correctly before? No
  7. Describe the problem. I've tried using both an XBOX 360 Controller and a Logitech Dual Action controller but when I go in to config to set up the buttons they're not being recognized.
I tried to find similar posts and learned about a possible issue where Steam interferes so I closed all the way out of it but it still doesn't change anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Do I need to use Joy2Key for all these games?

Re: Controllers Troubleshoot

While in-game, hit tab to bring up options, the rest is not hard to figure out.

Re: Controllers Troubleshoot

I'm not sure what tab was supposed to do but hitting tab while in game did nothing. I had been accessing the controller config via the toolbar at the top under "Input".

Re: Controllers Troubleshoot

Okay, maybe full mode is different from score mode. Try launching in score mode, using the tab technique to set them, use escape to exit the game, and they should be set for full mode.

This is what I do and I never have issues. Sorry I'm not able to confirm success at the moment.

Okay, 1 last thing you can try that I've come across is that I can only use my controllers using Internet Explorer, Firefox won't work for me, and also, I need to make sure that IE is the only browser I currently have open. I think this particular quirk might be exclusive to me though since I've never heard anyone else say it.

And just to be certain, you are entering the control setting via tab key, hitting enter on a particular button, witch clears out the default, then hitting the corresponding button on you controller right?

Re: Controllers Troubleshoot

I'm having the same problem from time to time (using a wireless Xbox 360 controller).

Turn off controller.
Turn of browser.

Turn on both.

Try again.. Works for me... And i'm using FF.
