Scoring for NES "Igo: Kyuu Roban Taikyoku"

I just played a couple of rounds of "Igo: Kyuu Roban Taikyoku", which is a version of the board game Go. I failed pretty badly at Level 14 (giving the computer a nine-piece handicap), but trounced it at Level 1 (taking a five-piece handicap).

Does RU ever score games by "highest level cleared"? That might make more sense in this case than "margin of victory", although adjudicating entries might fall somewhere between difficult and impossible given the nature of the game.

scores are literally just scores so far as I know, something like the level of difficulty you cleared it on isn't really a score

You mean something like how Urban Champion for NES is scored by level?

Re: Scoring for NES "Igo: Kyuu Roban Taikyoku"

I think it would be best to add the level *100 to the score spread.

So if your score is
50
The computers score is
10
and the level is 1
then the spread is 40
you recorded score is 140.

If the spread is the same but the level is 10 then your final score would be 1040.

Spread must be positive for your score to count.

I'm on board with Kong's solution: nice and elegant.
