interesting but those lyrics dont make sence all the time... if your going to hide a message it should make sence... also some of those words are way off.. but still cool

That video was great.

But really, what's more likely? That songs sound funny backwards, or that Zeppelin sold their souls to the devil?

They have sold quite a large chunk of albums, so I am going with the latter.

it makes no sence to say he will give you 666

666 has nothing to do with anything except satan its his mark and no one elses it gives no power to anyone...

hence its just funny lyrics... aslo i would argue some of those words like peritioner and oppositioner... those sound nothing like whats being said... just someone with a over active mind filled those it to make it fit...

and zeppelin sold a lot of records because his music is good...

panic at the disco sold lots of records so they must have sold there soul

so did garth brooks

and trisha yearwood

and blondie... you see where im going with this just because there music is great does not mean they sold there soul.

For those of you that did not watch my posted video - I will give you the summery. ***edit turned out kind of long for a summery***

If you listen to Stair Way to Heaven backwards you will hear a few random words. Not that many. The easiest word to pick out actually is Satan. Yes slightly creepy. But there are probably trillions of hours worth of recorded music. Every song played backwards has a word or two that you think you might hear (such as door or house or tree - innocent unimportant words). The chances that Satan will be one of the random words that you can pick out in a backwards song is very high. The chances that it is found in one of the best songs ever recorded (in several people's opinion) is a bit shocking but still not statistically improbable.

Here is the important bit - if you are not reading the words along with the song you will not hear the other words.

Try it. Listen to the song backwards but don't think of what you are supposed to be hearing - only what you actually are hearing. If you have already read along with it once you might still catch a few words but this is from your memory, not the actual song.

If you do read along with the song your brain will do a very amazing thing - make connections - it will try to connect the sounds you are hearing with the words you are reading.

You can even change the words you are reading to almost anything and your brain will still make connections and think that it is hearing what it is reading.

Because of that there are several different versions of the words that they are supposedly being heard. How can that be? If you can really hear something then there should only be one version of the lyrics, right?

Sorry if all this sounds lecturey or something but this is one of my pet peeves. And, well, I am the admin so I get to be preachy whenever I want.

Also, do you know how hard it would be to sing a song with the intention of it sounding a certain way on purpose! These guys might be amazing musicians but they are not intentionally writing reversible songs.

Try yourself and say backwards "No no, you're playing the record backward. Watch out, you might ruin your needle." Do you really think Fred Schneider could do that?

While obviously the Stairway To Heaven and similar things are silly, the B-52's one sounded crystal clear to me. They are a strange group, and it wouldn't surprise me if they actually sang something and then reversed it in the mixing process and put it in there reversed so people thought it was just jibberish unless they played the song backwards. That's a pretty simple task I would think.

Of course another possibility is that the person posted it messed with it to make it sound that way, I would like to hear the original song and tamper with it myself.

I did watch your video, Kong, and I thought it rocked.

I looked up the B-52 one after my last post. It is a different case than the SW2H one. The B-52's recorded it backwards like TMT explained.

if you close your eyes and seriously listen to the "lyrics" its just gibberish, which might sound like words, but its just the human mind trying to make sense of what its "comprehending", which is what it does all of the time.
