score demoted from being first

Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf - Sega Genesis - Score Board

check the above link...a couple days ago this game was properly listing my -1 as the top score. Now it's showing no score with my credit for having this top score removed.

given this is a golf game I am not sure if there is some special flag to have it count lowest score as top..but since it was showing it right a couple days ago I am puzzled why it isn't now.

looks good now for the scores plus saw credit back on having top...but on my personal page that shows all my first place trophies area it never has listed this game.

I may play it again soon and set lower score...as I never had played the game before and played it only twice to get that score.

Wouldn't it be better for a golf game to score total strokes instead of + or - par?

Not necessarily since courses are different pars.

For example if I shoot a -2 on a par 70, that is 68 strokes.
If I shoot a -3 on a par 72, that's 69 strokes.

So I had more strokes on a longer course, but a better score of a -3.

In essence it wouldn't make a difference on games with only 1 course, but on games with multiple courses it doesn't work if the courses are different pars.

Gotcha. Doesn't seem that much different than a racing game that has different courses and you pick the easiest courses to make the shortest time. With a golf game that has different courses, you'd pick the course that you could complete with the least amount of strokes. Not a big deal. Just thought it might be better to not have to deal with negative scores.

Fixed. For golf type games we might want to go with something like
100 + score.

So a score of 30 becomes 133 and a score of -1 becomes 99.

Yes. 30 would become 130.

Right now if someone submits a score of zero there is still a bug where the score wont be recognized. And that will take a lot of code rewriting to fix. When I programmed everything years ago I didn't think about someone scoring less than 1 point in a game.
