Coin Op Arcade Game Forgotten Title
This was the first game I ever asked about on EVG and the last. Then someone said something about this site. Figured more people would see it here and I would give it one last shot. Only thing is I think it's a possibility I might have crossed it in vague memory between two games around the same time. Anyways it was in a Dairy Queen (now a walk in Sonic) somewhere from 1989-1992. I'm thinking you might have played as a ninja type character. I remember this one early stage on a mountain type scene, the enemies werent hard to kill, I remember one running backwards on the other side of the screen, as I was going towards him. Strider and Ninja Gaiden arcade are the two games. I remember going to rent Ninja Gaiden and thinking (at the time) it was going to be just like the arcade version. I got Strider now and it seems similar and both were out at the same time. Something doesn't quite seem right though. I've looked at most of the coin op games on here but there's so many. Anyways thought I would try again. Sorry this post ran long. Thanks.

Welcome to RU Nostalgic!
Retro Uprising - Arcade
Here are all the games with the word "ninja" in it. I don't know you're game but you can try these or just the coin-op ones if you think that's what it's from.

Re: Coin Op Arcade Game Forgotten Title
Thanks for the replies so far. I have looked at the coin op games with the word ninja in them (several times over). Looked through a lot of the letters in order on coin-op (skimming through the ones I know it's not or couldnt be). It was deffinately arcade coin-op. It had a feel like the game strider, especially the graphics. I noticed one of the enemies scooting backwards on the ground, but I remember him standing and as I was walking towards him he was running backwards, I think he might have been a ninja and was red. I think it was on a mountain grass type level unlike the snow second level of strider. Also it's not mystic defenders. This wont help but I remember a scene on a movie called Gross Point Blank before the store blows up from a bomb the guy grabs the owner playing an arcade game and runs out. From what I could see the background/trees reminded me of this game. Sorry it's vague, if I don't come across anything, I probably crossed it somehow, that's the worst way to forget. It does seem like something else though from what I remember. This one drove me so nuts I wish I could find an old list or old stash of those arcade games from that old place lol. Whatever it was it was cool to me at the time and if it is out there, I would deffinately play it after searching this much. Thanks.

Re: Coin Op Arcade Game Forgotten Title
That kind of sounds like Ninja Kazan which is in MAME but I don't think it is offered on this site. If you have a current build of MAME you should be able to check it out.

Re: Coin Op Arcade Game Forgotten Title
It wouldn't happen to be Rygar, would it? You don't play as a ninja, but it starts out with a mountain scene, and when you hit enemies, they seem to walk backwards across the screen before they die. Just a shot in the dark.

Re: Coin Op Arcade Game Forgotten Title
Hey. I just pretty much went through the rest of the rest of the coin op titles (as well as the suggestions here) like before, skipping over what I know it's not and watching quick stills on youtube anything it could possibly be. I didn't come across aanything. Only thing I could add in memory was that the characters were big and it wasn't a 'cartoonish' type game. I don't remember it being a beat em up type game, so much as you could slash the enemies with one hit. (I've played Rygar arcade several times) Anyways I know it would have popped up or I would come across it by now one way or the other. The rest of the games were either solved or I came across exept one nes game I rented in 1993, but that shouldn't be hard to find. I must have mixed this one up in memory somehow. Thought I did the same with a movie question but the movie showed up. This one has been a pain lol. I appreciate everyone replies. Thank you.

Re: Coin Op Arcade Game Forgotten Title
I think you might be confusing memories too. But it's still possible that it's some obscure game none of us have heard of. You could get a random answer to this at anytime so don't give up hope just yet.

Re: Coin Op Arcade Game Forgotten Title
Did you check Ninja Kazan in MAME as it isn't on the site currently?

Re: Coin Op Arcade Game Forgotten Title
I forgot to mention that. Yes I used to have mame (several different times) on my old pc. I played this game a few times. Good guess though, as most of the games suggested start off on a mountain type scenario. I did about as much searching as I could do almost. There is a few from mame not on here and I never searched through all those (was to many). Like you said it still could be possible someone came along or knew, or it's out there, if not that's cool also. thanks
