Computer speaker help

So the other day I went to target and got a simple USB speaker for my computer, all I had to do, was plug it in and it was ready. I figured out how to get the USB speaker to work, and my built in comp. speakers to work both by themselves. I cant seem to get them to work together though, and get sound from both my computer speakers AND the USB speakers at the same time. Does any one know how I can set it up so they both work at the same time?

Typically that is not possible unless you have an unusual and fancy set up.

well its also incredibly loud too, even though my volume is only at about 5-10. Is there a different way i can quiet it down, other than going to the volume icon and dropping it? (even though I can barley go any lower)
