Danmaku (Bullet hell) shooters.

Wondering who plays this style of game around here. I kinda suck at em but I enjoy them immensly. DoDonPachi, Touhou, Trouble Witches, the Suguri series..I also have the touhou fighters as well. Call it sort of getting to know you guys better :3

I play them occasionally and I do enjoy them, but I am definitely not that good at them either. Still they definitely get the adrenalin pumping.

The genre you're talking about are Shmups. I love these games. We don't have any of the games, or at least I couldn't find them, on our archive of games other than Dodonpachi. I had to look up the other titles on youtube and I liked what I saw. Thanks for introducing me to those games. We have a game very similar to Trouble Witches, but I can't remember the title at the moment. I'll post it here when I find it.

Playing them can be fun, but some of them go too far on the difficulty curve for me to really enjoy them.

@Elrod21, Thanks, I have been enjoying myself here. It's been a throwback to great past times.

@jozman3000, The general catagory are called SHMUP which means SHoot-eM-UP. These I'm referring to are a particular style of them that are known for having a ridiculous amount of bullets coming at you at once. They're called Danmaku (Lit- Curtain Fire or Bullet Curtain) or just Bullet Hell SHMUPs.

@Everyone else. I know how you feel. I'm the same way. But I try anyway. Can't beat it if you don't try to do better right?

Yeah I regretted asking how people can enjoy it after I posted but I figured it's too late to go back. I suppose it's the same feeling that I get when I play a game like Shadowrun, blood pumping intensity that makes you want more. I just can't understand how people can actually play those bullet hell games at all, way too much going on.

I enjoy these games, at the very least the graphics look nice, but they aren't my type of thing. I never had that kind of skill, so I never got far enough to feel like I had done something inside the game, aside from the fact that I see the death screen and game over screen more times than most people do through the entire game, in the first stage.
