Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
Retro Uprising Creators,
I am very happy that you have created this site. Many of the games on this site bring back memories of my prepubescent and pubescent years standing on the floors of arcades. Oh how I miss them. The arguement today is that the children are overweight and uneducated because they sit and play video games all day. Atleast with the arcades there was physical exercise with walking around and standing. You have provided two of the greatest fighting games on the site with: Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, however I think you need to bring one more Coin-Op verison to the site. BRING KILLER INSTINCT COIN-OP TO RETRO UPRISING!!!!!!!!

If you want a game, you need to go to here and ask:

Not gonna happen, as far as I can tell.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
It would have been cool, its the only fighter I ever liked or was good at. Then again I've only ever played the snes version before.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
KI was an alright game but the novelty wore off fast and it was inferior compared to stuff like SF, Tekken and Virtua Fighter. Hell, I even think Primal Rage was better and that game wasn't all that good either.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
Primal Rage sucked. Tekken and Virtual Fighter were the next generation.
SF and Mortal Kombat are the only games it's fair to compare it to and, yeah, it was inferior to them.

Virtua Fighter came out before KI though.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
Either way KI and PR are both gimmicky garbage, imo. It doesn't matter when they came out.

You're asking us why you like something? If I had to guess I'd say you just have bad taste in fighting games.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
It has to mean something if I hate fighters and I like this one. With the exception of SSB and SSBM which I love but they are so radically different

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
Killer Instict isn't a bad fighter, it's just overrated.
The SSB series is a fighting game series, it just plays differently. I hate it when other gamers say
that SSB isn't a fighting game just because it plays differently. Dissidia plays very differently and
it's still a great fighting game.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
I love SSB and SSBM. I said they are radically different. I like the style.
As for KI, - 1 Steven, made you look. lol no I used cinder as long as I can remember. I kept losing to friends online once they learned me and I learned every move with cinder. Recently I discovered that I can beat them by button mashing with spinal, lol. Not seriously but cinder isn't as good but I just am not too good at fighters.
except SSBM today apparently. I kept stacking enemies until my friends finally made me fight 3 level 9 foxes on a team and I won. I was freaking out. I hadn't played SSBM in like 4 months, lol. That and I normally couldn't beat 3 opponents of level 5 before on the same team.

Yeah, it's sad that Primal Rage was better than something.
I had that game when I was a kid, the SNES version, the only thing about it I liked was the fact that the hearts by the life gauge exploded.

No, SF and Mortal Kombat are not the only ones fair to compare it too:
Fatal Fury
Art of Fighting
Eternal Champions

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
I enjoyed Killer Instinct quite a bit. I think the combo system is more fun than in most fighting games. Sure it doesn't have the depth of Eternal Champions 2, but I would put it side by side with Fatal Fury and a bit better than Art of Fighting.
I'm not the best judge in the world on 3D fighters, as I generally don't like them. I own Virtua Fighter, but it bores me. I haven't really gotten into Tekken or Soul Caliber. They look interesting, but I haven't done much with them. I played Samurai Shodown Sen a bit, and I like that better as it is more strategy based than most 3D fighters.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
When it comes to 3D fighters, nothing even comes close to the depth of the Bushido Blade games.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
I wouldn't say Bushido blade had a lot of depth. To me it's simplicity and realism made it stand out. They ruined it when they tried to update it with more moves and other BS.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
I've never played Bushido Blade, but Soul Calibur has a lot of depth that makes it an awesome 3D fighter.

Re: Bring Killer Instinct Coin-Op to Retro Uprising
@SJB- sadly the only good Bushido Blade games were on PS1 and they look and feel horrible compared to modern games. It would be hard for people to appreciate it now I think, the ship has sailed on it.
@Tails- Thanks I thought that was pretty funny too.
