Okay, this looks like it will be either really awesome, or really bad. It has been released in Japan, but it has yet to be released in the US. When it is, sometime in 2011, chances are I will watch it. It will be straight to DVD.

I know, it will likely suck, but I'll end up watching it anyway.

At least several of the actors are actually fighters, some of which are proficient at the style of the character.

It turns out it deviates a lot from the plot from the games, and characters have been altered heavily.

Anna and Nina don't hate each other. {click spoiler in first post for proof}
Bryan has never won a tournament in the games, yet in the movie he is a champion.
There is no Devil Gene whatsoever in the movie, changing Kazuya and Jin.
Jin is more rebellious than he was in any of the games, including Tekken 3.

It also has characters who don't fit in because of alterations made.
Example: Miguel didn't get involved in the tournament until after Jin became the champion and took over the Mishima Zaibatsu, so Miguel would have no place yet.

I'll probably see it as well. But Im so tired of people trying to make a "good" video game movie. The only one Ive seen with potential at the moment is the new Mortal Kombat trailer.

Hopefully this movie wont be to bad, but I dont have a lot of high hopes for it

It could be worse, it could be directed by Uwe Boll, or the cast could be entirely made up of people with no fighting skills in reality.

I doubt I'll bother watching this. I just read a review and apparently it butchers the story and even then it's a boring action movie. Also why does it look like Nina and Anna are lesbians? I get that characters get changed sometimes but from sibling rivals to lovers?

Did you like The Room TMT? I'm curious if there's a limit to how bad a movie can be or if it's anything goes with you.

I never saw The Room. Movies have to be a certain kind of bad for me to enjoy them. Mostly they need to be really over the top. And being as this is a movie based on Tekken, it will probably be full of dumb fights and bad lines that are supposed to be intimidating.

My least favorite movies are the ones that aren't good enough to be interesting or bad enough to be interesting. Like Race To Witch Mountain, probably my least favorite movie ever.

You should see The Room, I'd be interested in how you feel about it. The guy who made it claims that he meant it as a dark comedy/tongue in cheek kind of thing but I really believe that he thought it was gonna be good because he's so stupid. I give him credit for spinning it and making money off it but damn his movie sucked hard.


I doubt this Tekken movie will be as bad but ya never know. That DBZ movie looked pretty horrible and nothing like the anime from what I could tell.
