i made an advertizement thread for RetroUprising on the DeathFan Forums, so i figure it only fair to make a link leading from RetroUprising to DeathFan so that both RU and DF are getting new members from both sites:
DeathFan is a fan site about the anime show: Death Note, for those of you who dont know what Death Note is, you can DL and watch subbed episodes from here:
In the end its about being happy with yourself and being able to be at peace with the choices youve made in life and not having any regrets about anything :)
It is quite excellent. I am very impressed with the anime's loyalty towards the manga source material. I have been a fan of Death Note from the beginning thanks to its artist, Takeshi Obata. I've been a fan of his ever since his work on Hikaru no Go.
I've not yet seen the live-action movies, as I want to get farther into the manga/anime to avoid any spoilers. All in all, it's a terrific series no matter what version you are talking about.
"Wait a second! I know that monkey. His name is Donkey."<br />"Monkeys aren't donkeys! Quit messing with my head!"<br />
their making the english version of Death Note already, they made the trailer, but Light's english voice sux (and im not the only one who thinks, tons of people on DeathFan think the same thing) so i created a petition to change Light's english voice, heres the link to the petition:

How is the manga superior to the anime? From the bit that I've read and seen, it's just about a frame-by-frame animated version of the manga. Either way, both are awesome.
What? Light's English voice is terrible? Oh, wait, that's right, we're talking about Viz here. Sorry.

For one reason the anime is VERY dramatic (go to youtube and look up Epic Potato Chip Action)
And it's the different after a certain episode I believe 23.
Maybe I just haven't read/seen enough yet. From what I had seen, both the anime and the manga were very dramatic and were very similar. I wonder what would make them deviate so close to the end? I'll have to watch and see.

Haven't watched them yet. I've been holding off on seeing them until I get farther into the anime/manga. I know that they're not too loyal to either, but I'd rather not have anything spoiled...even in a round-about sort of way.

You could watch the first movie without spoiling anything if you have read up to Volume 4.
So if you want to watch it, you can watch it at this link: Deathnote Live Action Movie 1 -J.j - Google Video
