Favorite Metal Gear Game

I stumbled across the old Metal Gear games on the site. I hadn't played these games in years and it was nice to see how it all began. I loved all the Metal Gear games for Playstation. My all-time favorite was Metal Gear Solid. I rented the game for the weekend and bought soon after that because I fell in love with it. The story was second to none. The scenes with Solid and Liquid were very cool. Although the story got a little weird in Metal Gear Solid #2 it was still pretty good as well. So are there any Metal Gear fans out there. What's your favorite Metal Gear game and why?

it is my understanding that mgs4 is hands down the best, at least from the people i've talked to about it. i haven't played it. i loved solid. thought it was fantastic. one of those games that came around at exactly the right time. a lot of people hated on solid 2 because of the lack of snake and a lot of raiden, but at least you got to run around with a sword.

Oh boy, this is where everybody asks me if I am crazy.

I can't stand Metal Gear Solid. It just isn't fun to PLAY. Sure, the cut scenes/story/characters are cool, but the actual playing of the game is what I look for in a game. If I want an awesome story I will go watch a movie.

So to answer your question, my favorite Metal Gear game is Metal Gear for NES. I had more fun with it than any of the others.

i got this game when i got my ps3. i started playing it, and it was pretty interesting in gameplay. however i stopped after i realized that i had no idea what was going on (i have never played the first 3)

Metal Gear Solid is my one of my favorite series...I think it's my second favorite to be honest. My favorite game is MGS4, followed by 1, then 3, then 2. Not counting the spin-offs and Metal Gear 1 & 2.

Well, I have only played the NES Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid 2. Of those two, I preferred MGS2, despite the fact that Metal Gear is one of my favorite NES games.

I honestly preffered integral (PC version of solid) to the rest. it was more fun because the controls were custom, rather than the bag of crap version.

Too bad nobody ever translated the real Metal Gear 2 from Japan. Except we got Snake's Revenge........I don't suppose anybody likes that game? I thought it was okay but in the sense of the whole series it didn't really fit in.

I would personally say the BEST MGS game ever made was probably Metal Gear Solid 3..
It is the sex of MGS games..
Sure the frame rate was fairly basic.. but the gameplay, cutscenes and bosses were possibly the best i've seen in an MGS game..

However they're all absolutly brilliant games! =D

Metal Gear has nothing on Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake for the MSX2, better story, croutch prone, actually fighting metal gear.

But my favorite MG is Metal Gear Solid, I love the stealth game play and story.
