Second Place Prize:
Choose one of the following

40 Nintendo Power Magazines from the late 80's - early 90s.
1 XBox 360 Controller that plays on an XBox and PC. Works with Retro Uprising games.
$50 Steam Gift Card.

Third Place Prize:
Choose one of the following

6 button Sega Saturn dog bone style USB controllers manufactured by Sega for the PC.
$20 eBay Gift Card.

If you live outside of the USA you will have to take the gift cards because of shipping costs. Exception: the XBox 360 controller can be shipped to most countries for the same price.

If you win first place you will have to skip the next 3 prize contests. Second place skips the next 2 prize contests. Third place just skips next month's contest. This is so more people have a chance to win instead of giving the same people prizes over and over.

The following players are ineligible this month because they have recently won other prizes.

Start and End:
This contest begins now. You can join at any time. It will end at a random time near August 1st, give or take a couple of days.

Retro Mission Rules:

Receive points for completing each mission below. Any actions before the contest beings or after it ends do not count.

You only have to complete the mission once during the month. It does not matter if you do not have it completed when the contest ends. Example the first mission says get 10th place in SMW. You do not have to have 10th place at the end of the contest. You just have to have it some time during the course of the contest even if it is just for a second.

You can only get credit for each mission once.

You must use a different game for each mission. You can not use one score to get credit for 2 different missions.

+1 bonus point if you are the first to complete a mission.

In the event of a tie the person that received their final point first, wins.

When you complete a mission you must post your accomplishment in this thread. The bonus points for being first and deciding ties are determined by the time you post your accomplishment in this thread, not the time that you submit your score.

To receive credit for completing a mission your score/clear must be approved by the mods but you do not have to wait for mod approval before posting your mission accomplishment here.

The Missions:

The first set of missions are worth 1 point each.

Super Mario World - Super Nintendo Get 10th place. Notice the view all scores tag is enabled in the link so all scores count, not just personal bests.
X Men - Arcade/Coin-Op - Beat level 1 flawlessly. Submit a score past level 1 without getting hit on level 1.
Block Out - Sega Genesis - Start at level 0 and reach level 7.
Chicken Farm - Arcade/Coin-Op - Get over 21 points.
Bal Cube - Arcade/Coin-Op - Reach level 8.
Gain Ground - Reach Round 2 in any Gain Ground game. There are 10 stages in each round.
Super Punch Out - Super Nintendo - Beat the Minor Circuit
Super Mario Kart - Super Nintendo - Score Board - Submit a score. Don't get last place.
Road Rash 3 - Sega Genesis - Submit a score after you buy a sport bike.
Toejam and Earl - Sega Genesis - Submit a score past level 5.
- This second set of missions are also worth 1 point each but if you accomplish the mission in a game that no one else has used yet then you receive 2 bonus points.
Submit a score while you are ridding a dinosaur.
Submit a score while you are ridding any animal besides a dinosaur or horse.
Submit a score where you are being eaten/killed by a zombie.
Submit a score of exactly 1 point.
Submit a score of exactly 1337 points.
Clear a non-SRAM enabled game in under 5 minutes. 5 bonus point to whoever is fastest.
- This set of missions are worth 5 points each. If you accomplish the mission in a game that no one else has used yet then you receive 2 bonus points.
Clear any RPG game.
Clear any game that has not been cleared by anyone on RU before. You may repeat this mission up to 3 times.
- This set of missions are worth 10 points each.
Clear any Final Fantasy game.
Clear any Shining Force game.
- This group of missions are worth 1 point each.
Fatal Labyrinth - Sega Genesis - Submit a score after you pick up a Battle Axe.
- This set of missions are worth 1 point each but if you accomplish the mission in a game that no one else has used yet then you receive 2 bonus points.
Submit a score/clear with a sunset in the screenshot.
Submit a score/clear with a famous real landmark in the screenshot.
Submit a score/clear with fireworks in the screenshot.
Get a first place high score in a game that has scores submitted from at least 10 different people.
- This set of missions are worth 10 points each.
Shinobi - Sega Master System - Score Board - Reach mission 4.
My Game Rankings - Beat one of Kong's high scores.
Get in the top 20 of every game in the 2013 Gaming Champ contest. Scores prior to July count.
- This set of missions are worth 10 points each. 2 bonus points if you accomplish the mission in a game that no one else has used yet.
Clear a game that is worth 50 or more Game Club points.
Clear a Battletoads game.
- This set of missions are worth 1 point each.
Get past the third elevator level (Lv 4-4) on Donkey Kong
Get a "Perfect" on Skeet shooting on Hyper Sports.

- This set of missions are worth 1 point each but if you accomplish the mission in a game that no one else has used yet then you receive 2 bonus points.
Change the course of history. Example Japan wins World War II, Brittan wins the Revolutionary war, The Confederacy wins the American Civil War. Does not have to be war based, those were just the first examples I thought of.
Roll the score counter on any game. You can repeat this mission 3 times - a different game each time.
Sit on a toilet in a score submission.
Submit a score while someone is drinking a beer. 1 bonus point for each beer in screen shot.
Submit a score over 200 Million. 5 bonus points if you have the highest score submitted for this mission.
- This set of missions are worth 10 points each.
Beat one of - Josephjo's high scores
- This set of missions are worth 15 points each.
Get the top score in any of the Retro Uprising 2013 Gaming Champ Games. You can repeat this mission twice. Score can not be submitted prior to this contest.
- This set of missions are worth 3 points each. You can't use a game that anyone else has used.
Submit a score with Mario on screen in a non-Mario game - is never possible to control Mario in the game.
Capture a spelling mistake - you can't create the spelling mistake yourself - example naming your character doesn't count.
Submit a score in a game that stars a girl rescuing a boy. If you save the boy you may repeat this mission.
Submit a score in the rain.
Submit a score where you are being handed a trophy. You may repeat this 5 times.

Additional missions will be added each week so people that can't start until later in the month will still have a fighting chance.

Many people consider it as the 1st RPG ever. In this context, it's for Mission 17.
Or for Mission 16 (if the 5 extra points are for faster completition in the end of the competition, I prefer it for Mission 16).

When "viewing all scores" it seems the maximum displayed results is 100 submissions, so in "=1" my recent submission is not shown, but "=0" it's there.
Max 100 is a known scoreboard issue?

It means if you are in this page:

and click "Page 2" in the bottom, it goes to:

(NOT all scores)
and then no scores in that page.

Kong, some doubts:

1) Player 1 (P1) submits "Game X" for "Mission X". Then use the same "Game X" in other submission, now for "Mission Y". Is it allowed?

2) P2 uses the same game that P1 used for the same "Mission Z". Is it allowed?

3) About the "ridding any animal" in Mission 12 (considering Frogger, Golden Axe, Dahna, Sunset Riders, Joust and Donkey Kong Country)... Frogger is allowed? Joust is allowed? (That's just about the +1 bonus for 1st, not so much but can be important

)

4) In Mission 16, the "5 bonus point to whoever is fastest" is for:
4.1) The 1st player that completed that mission?
4.2) The players that will have the "fastest 'under 5 minutes' submission" in the end of the competition? Ex.: P1 got 60 secs in Game X. Then P2 got 50 secs in Game Y.
4.2.1) Is it allowed P1 (and/or P2) play again to reduce their times?
4.2.2) Is it allowed P1 (and/or P2) change and play Game Z to try 40 secs for example?
4.3) If "4.2" is OK, then these "5 points" can be exchanged between players, and it can affect that tie-breaker rule "In the event of a tie the person that received their final point first, wins". Anyway, let's hope that ties will not happen in the end...

5) Comparing Mortal Kombat 2, Avalanche and TMNTurtles... MK2 "1 wins" is allowed as "Submit a score of exactly 1 point" for Mission 14 ?

6) In Mission 18 is possible to receive 15 points (5 x 3 completed games) for regular points, plus 6 points (2 x 3) for "not used" games = 21 points, right?
6.1) Additionally, the "+1 bonus point if you are the first to complete a mission." is give only once to the player that first cleared 1 game, right?
