Genre Listing?
I know it'll be a bit of a heavy workload, but it'd be neat if you could put a genre list for each system, Action / Adventure, RPG, Simulation, etc. Something to think about for the future maybe?

Re: Genre Listing?
This is something that I've personally brought up in the past. It's very possible, but for now we have quite a bit on the mod plate of things to do. If we ever get to doing this and I'm still around, I would probably take on the challenge to organize the games by genre.

Re: Genre Listing?
Right now the ability for this is very rudimentary. Eventually it will be robust but for now this is what we have.
Game Series - Retro Uprising
You may create or contribute to lists there.
Once better support for lists is added to the game menu, we will use those lists as starting points.
Also you can find some lists by searching. Examples
Search for neo geo
Search for disney
Not great yet but it will get there eventually.

Re: Genre Listing?
We can never agree on genre listings.
People will inevitably ask why Zelda isn't an RPG or if Megaman why Megaman isn't a run 'n gun.

Who would consider Zelda an RPG?

Re: Genre Listing?
It's come up before. Honestly I don't see the harm if we put an rpg tag on a zelda game. The people who know it's not aren't effected by it and the people who think it's an rpg can find it easier.

Re: Genre Listing?
Every time I write those two words I always think I'm getting them wrong. I didn't realize I bugged you that much though.

As much as labeling Zelda an RPG?

Re: Genre Listing?
I don't see why it couldn't be labelled as an RPG.
It has town(s), you can buy items at shops, you go to dungeons and fight bosses and progress through the game. You get progressively better weaponry / item, you talk to NPC's, you do sidequests. It has everything most RPG's have, lacking the experience of course.

Re: Genre Listing?
I know it's a long term plan ARLD. This is very important to me as well, as I enjoy searching for things by genre.
As for tags, I suppose some games could have more than one theorectically. I don't know if it would be technically possible. That would be a question for the Kongger.

Re: Genre Listing?
Yes, more than one. And my vote would be for loose definitions so Zelda would be listed as both RPG and Adventure.
