Final Fantasy Games
I left out final fantasy 11 because its a online RPG that you can not beat and that world is still changing and evolveing in the MMO world
me personally for replay value i can play final fantasy 8 alot
but my favorite would be final fantasy X just it was way to easy after you got the the part where you could glitch the cactaur and get max levels ... i had the last boss beat in just a few hits ;'(
they should have modified the last boss to look at your stats and scale him up or down accordingly so it did not take 5 hits to kill him....

Re: Final Fantasy Games
I've never played one, never a big fan of turn fighters ecept pokemon but I gave up on that, they made the handheld games so fast it was like you had to buy a new one every week to be "Cool" in my school so I just went to systems. Oh, kingdomhearts was pretty fun, wasn't a turn fighter though it reminded me of FF.

Re: Final Fantasy Games
kingdom hearts reminds you of FF because its from the same people Square enix
@Tails FF12 was ok it went from turn based to a more real time fighting style but it was nothing to get worked up about ... they really took out espers and crystals and went to a more triditional form of rpg of just fight and magic...
for the record FF12 had espers in it but i never used them because they sucked... and they took a back seat role instead of driving the main story line..

Re: Final Fantasy Games
I LOVE FF7. That is actually my 2nd or third favorite in the FF series though. FF3 (or 6) is my favorite of the series. Second and third are tied with Crisis Core and FF7. For the record though, I played FF7 o the computer, not on the playstation.

Re: Final Fantasy Games
I really wanted to like FF8 but it's characters bothered me alot. Also the whole draw magic and store it was FLAWED LIKE CRAZY. Great I got spells but I can't use them?!!? Awesome!
I'll admit FF7 had it's bad moments too but on the whole it was a much better game.
FF9 wasn't bad, I actually cared what happened to those characters.
Even though I ended up hating it FF8 was waaaaay better than X-2, they should be ashamed of that one.
So yeah, out of those listed I voted FF7 because at the time it was Epic.

Re: Final Fantasy Games
I am with you on FF8 dudebro. I didn't likke the characters all that well. It has been a long time since I have played it and I still don't wanna replay it. I would play FF7 any day of the week (along with FF3).

You liked X-2? Why? I'm not making fun of you I'm just confused as to why people liked this game. Seemed like a steaming pile of crap to me.
And if you liked all the later FF games you might not like FF7 since the graphics are sooooooooooo ugly when compared to the games that came after it. If you can get past graphics(which most people playing Retrogames should be able to do to) it's a classic worth playing once at least.
I also wanna add I liked some stuff about FF8, Laguna and his team weren't bad.

It is worth noting that when asked again about the possibility of a Final Fantasy VII remake, he said:
"The possiblity for a remake may become greater if, for instance, the schedules of the original members of the Final Fantasy VII development team, such as Kitase and Nomura, open up"
So development of a Final Fantasy VII remake could possibly start after the completion of Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII?

This is probably about the best answer you are going to find.

Re: Final Fantasy Games
I don't know alot about the FF VII story, But I am under the impression that Crisis Core takes place before the orinigal FF VII story.
The game itself is awesome.

I am glad you asked.....well:
Final Fantasy Crisis Core takes place before Cloud is around. It helps explain exactly how a few of the characters are introduced (it even goes as far as to give certain items to character, like Aeris' pink ribbon in her hair and how Cloud obtains the buster sword). The main character is Zack, who is slightly mentioned in FF7, but not much. There is more but my brain is so racked right now, I can't think of everything.

Re: Final Fantasy Games
Out of the ones on the list, I've only played X. I never finished it though, I got about halfway through a couple years ago then my brother deleted my game . I've only played a couple others, and haven't finished any of them either. I usually get to a point where I keep dying, get frustrated, and stop playing. I really enjoyed IV though, and I think I'm actually pretty close to the end.

actually, that was the order in which i liked the games (i really didn't like FFX2 all that much either; i guess I'm kind of ocd and just wanted to finish it for finishing ffX). and i don't really care about graphics, i can get past that (to a point). good gameplay and storyline is really all i want.[br] Posted on: April 26, 2008, 03:46:49 PM_________________________________________________

This is what i found about 13, but if you hate wikipedia, you don't have to believe it:
Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII is the collective name of a series of games made under the Final Fantasy XIII label by Square Enix. Made in the same vein as the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, Fabula Nova Crystallis, which means "the New Tale of the Crystal" in Latin, is nevertheless based on various worlds and different characters, but each game will be "ultimately based on and expand upon a common mythos." According to Square Enix, they all take place in the same universe, but are not directly related to each other.
The current games in development within Fabula Nova Crystallis are:
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
Final Fantasy Agito XIII (Mobile Phone)
Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3)

Re: Final Fantasy Games
why do they always make them "not directly related to each other" why dont they ever just make 1 game like FF 13 then make a FF13-2 then an FF 13-3 then in FF 14 tie them all togeather for one large story... oh well.. some universe you say?

Re: Final Fantasy Games
it would be pretty neat with FF games as sequels or having to do with each other in a more intricate way. although i can understand if they're afraid of making sequels (in my opinion, X-2 wasn't that good of a sequel), since it's extremely hard to make an awesome sequel to an equally awesome game (or movie or anything for that matter).

Re: Final Fantasy Games
well FF X-2 in all fairness could have been a good game if they kept the same fighting style and even how they drove the story forward sucked ... oh mission complete oh and by the way you cant walk around you have to fly every where oh and to find every secret you have to visit every single location and talk to everyone ... after EVERY mission... lame lame lame lame lame... they did not even try on FF x-2 they just through something togeather

The only one I ever really got into and enjoyed were 3 and 7. I played 8 a couple of times, but it started to get old after a while.
