The reason why now is because, although we've been missing out on great games since the begging, there have always been great games that we did get. Now in this case we arnt getting anything, makes it a hell of a lot more obvious.

Just got my Wii set up. I am playing (feeling my way through) the Japanese Version of Xenoblade. It is worth it folks. I will be buying the EU version. The environments and battle system are awesome.

Obtain these games by any means necessary!

It is because most consumers aren't all that smart.
I've noticed Nintendo's shift towards hyper-casual since the earliest days of the DS, with games like Brain Age and Nintendogs.

Nintendo has just been moving in the wrong direction. Sure, there are good and great games from time to time, but there's more Wii Sports, Cooking Mama and stuff like that then there used to be.

So after watching his video I'm starting to think xenophobia is the motivating factor behind what Nintendo is doing. Is there any other reason?

If everything in that video is true then it doesn't seem to make sense from a business standpoint. Even if it costs extra to convert and ship it here the sales speak for themselves. This makes me think it's some irrational or mean spirited reason.

Well if it's just about money then I guess that's more evidence that Nintendo doesn't really care about it's customers as much as most Nintendo fans like to claim. They're just as soulless and greedy as all the rest, maybe more.

But, if the game has already been translated to English for Europe, the cost to also sell it in America is negligible, especially considering the tendency of said games to sell better here than in Japan.
