Bionic Commando Rearmed 2

Ok, so the true sequel to Bionic Commando was released earlier this week on XBLA.

From what I have read, there is a ton of hate on this game, specifically, the ability to jump and the altered swing mechanics.

From what I have played, getting used to the new swing mechanics is a bit of a pain. I often find myself having to stop before certain swings to focus and remind myself of the controls.
I have mixed feelings about the jumping ability. Con - It is Bionic Commando...there is no jumping!!!
Pro - it makes swinging a bit easier, gets a little extra distance, vertical jump then arm to get the hard to reach places, plus you can now vault over objects.

The game keeps the humor of the original Rearmed. Plus new weapons and a ton of gadgets.

The game teases with the idea of having co-op, but it is local only...totally lame.

The price tag is a bit steep, 1200 MS points.

Once you get used to the controls, it is fun...great, fun bosses. If you are a fine, you might as well check it out.

The fact that people are bitching about the jump ability is sad. I think the lack of jump is stupid and they only left it out the first time to add artificial difficulty to the game.
Also who's that obsessed with BC to actually care? It was one cool game that came out years ago. It's not like there's a rich backstory and several stellar games to warrant this kind of rabid fanboyism.

I don't think they should have added the jump personally, the game had a unique mechanic going, now with the jump it looses it to an extent.

I'm not going to play the game since I don't own a 360 anyway, so I'm not passionate about it, I just see it as a "if it aint broke, don't fix it" type situation.

I think jump is the wrong word. From what I heard it's more like a small hop. Seems like a pointless distinction but I think they kept the jump small to stick with the reliance on the arm. I haven't tried it though so Jim will have to set us straight.

I just watched some footage, and it appears the jump is used to reach ledges that are just out of range of your arm, so it seems that you can't just jump through a level. So yeah, it's just a small hop, that's acceptable imo.

From what I've heard this one isn't as enjoyable as the first Rearmed.

The hop is kind of lame. Great, he can hop slightly to increase his grapple range. Why not just increase the max length of the arm instead?

That would be so hilarious if the level designers had the wrong specs for the arm.

Anyway, I just watched 2 other trailers for it to try and get a better idea of how this jump is implemented, neither of them mentioned the jump, and didnt show any footage of it at all.

It is a hop, aside from slightly increasing the arm length, you can vaulting objects like barrels and small gaps. Think original Prince of Persia jump and not Mario.
