Maybe YOU AND I were into/aware of them, but most people were certainly
not since I remember people coming up to me in the 80's saying they were
'worried about what I was doing to my soul' by listening to METALLICA, which they were convinced was the devil's music.
(Same as what they said about The Beatles, and Elvis, and Twisted Sister.....)

these albums were major FUDSB influences even though
those guys wouldn't listen to them, (my bandmates) I used them to help me fall asleep:
Slayer's 'Haunting the Chapel' , Hellhammer's 'Apocalyptic Raids' , Venom's 'Black Metal' , etc.
Oh, such lovely dark melodies....
The fact we were WAY too young and immature (and liked to party too much, yeah at that age) led to our downfall, and one death many years later - I never did hear what happened, just that one of us had died and it was likely some drug overdose (not pot that is certain) but the guy I am talking about was
very crazy and so this was no surprise, really.
