I agree somewhat Neko, but I think Heath Ledger did a good acting job. I'm just not sure what character he was trying to play. It wasn't the Joker from the comics IMHO. To me it really felt like he was trying to emulate Brandon Lee's portrayal in The Crow. Also, in the comics Joker was never really an agent of chaos. The main character who I can recall that did this was Bane. Also, Joker wasn't a little emo child with daddy issues like in TDK. He was absolutely insane, but he was very intelligent and always had a specific masterplan that would lead to some sick homicidal joke (in this respect, I think Nicholson did a magnificent job as the Crown Prince of Crime and the story fit with something the Joker would do).
Having said that, I still like TDK as a film. I think it is very cheesy in many parts, but overall is is a decent story and the most of the actors did a good job (I can't say Christian Bale did, but he really wasn't given any good material in this one either). .
