No point in going to dangerous places. Just ignore them and go to different ones. Pokemon are constantly spawning all over so stay in safe areas. The Pokemon that spawn depend on the environment. Rock/Fighting pokemon seem more common to spawn in desert areas like Arizona. Water Pokemon near beaches or lakes. Bug/Flying types seem to spawn anywhere. But you should never go out of your way to somewhere dangerous in hopes of finding Pokemon there.
